I dont know about the general sentiment but I remember being beyond shocked when he told a group of pharmacists in front of news reporters with recording devices that he didnt know what a SKU was. Of course nobody knows everything but I think it would be weird for someone giving advice on economic policy not to know this, really weird.
Lol. To this day I still remember Perry Christie's response when asked how much BAMSI would cost, reply, "*whatever it takes*", its whispered that those are the famous last words of the dodo birds in Ice Age as they walked off the cliff with eyes wide open
Imagine the words of the radio caller Antoine who said of the PMs 70 person large delegation to Bostswana (a delegation so large a local African reporter asked ~"*why do you always travel with such large groups of men?*"), ~"*the Botswanian president*" (whose country mines diamonds btw) "*treated his people to only the best when he came to the Bahamas, he placed them in the most expensive hotels, why should the PM not do the same for his people when we travel there?*"... 200,000 dollar car, 2.5mil private plane. The PM gives himself the best. On our money. Where the VAT money gone? Maybe.
"*Abused it*" would be more appropriate. The first thing PM Christie with the new found money was to take the entire cabinet on an all paid luxury vacation to the family islands under the guise of a "*meeting*". Its a continuation of govt policy. Find new revenue, find ways to spend more than was made
"*Davis never seemed to have a vision for the country and it shows. Despite a nice personality, history will likely record him as the prime minister of least consequence and fewest accomplishments, especially if the PLP loses the next election.*"
**This is the most accurate assessment ever**. I've said from the start, because Davis was so well liked and clearly has the gift of favour, he had a tremendous opportunity to communicate a vision and bring the country with him.
But alas from the minute he mentioned the words "*climate change*" his doom was forecast. Or perhaps it was always there... because after that first UN speech, Davis appeared to know nothing about anything that was going on **in** the country. Getting off to a bad start by placing the critical fuel hedge in the hands of an FS, who appears to rely on his own counsel to create disastrous economic policy after disastrous economic policy. Aitomatic weapons to collect taxes?? Begging the question who proposed the latest renew all insurance in birth month edict. Then Fred Mitchell seeing blood in the water positions himself as obvious choice for leader and why not, someone have to be in charge.
The nail in the coffin was the statement, "*well, they didnt say the high ranking politician received any money..*"
Nationalism aside, fundraising is one of the **most** important things to a university. School fees alone dont cover the cost of progressive development. This just is.
People drive without insurance because they simply cant afford it.
Yes I know, people will say *if you cant afford insurance you shouldnt have a car*. I dont think that's the answer. Because with this crazy policy, what are the privileged few who were using that line saying now? "***We** cant afford it*", so should you too not have a car? Or should heaven and earth move to allow you to have what is almost a necessity for NP at least.
What should be happening is an examination of insurance rates. What percentage of drivers are actually claiming on vehicle insurance? I dont believe I've heard 500 accidents in any year vs what is the population of insured drivers paying premiums year after year with no claims? The next thing to look at is the net profit, yes every business is in business to make money, but are the profits "ethical", a new age concept, are you extracting more than required for your comfort and success, just to pile up more and more gold coins under the dragons belly
If your insurance has not expired they will accept it, even if it's less than 6months left on it. That only applies to 2025.
Going into 2026, if they dont allow you to prorate, and you're shackled to your insurance agency, cancel the policy and open a new one in your birth month. If you're not shackled to them go to another agency that will allow you to prorate.
I am having second and third thoughts about Minister Coleby, ages still Transport right?. How did this ball of confusion policy come to be? *Hey let's renew insurance in birth money ok, Johniandra can you draft the legal document and let's pass it in the house tomorrow?*. What a waste of employee productivity time and paper.
When I was younger I thought all Chinese nationals were smart... until I went to a school with an abundance of Chinese nationals and got stuck on one illfated project with a young Chinese lady who literally did no work. It's not that all Bahamians are unproductive it's that you're in a place, "The Bananas", where you get to see the full range of them, the good, bad and the absolutely abysmal, i.e., the pareto 80/20 rule.
