"*Persons were reaching out to me to see if they can get the domes after persons moved out, but we’re unable to release them. We can’t utilise them because of the conditions of them*"

Do we elect dummies?

I still remember the first article published about these "domes". There was a picture posted along with the article to which I commented, "*these are igloos, meant for the artic, can they withstand our temperarure*?"

Did anybody in the Minnis govt ask the obvious question?

Ok. Who I should ask about the ambassador to Brussels?

well.... there's the oil spill and the 8yr old boy bitten with sharks. Which island was it where the tour boat exploded? Did that happen in Nassau or Out Island?

Where exactly did this 70yr old die of COVID? Was he in clinic, waiting transfer to Nassau? When was he diagnosed? Did someone do daily checkups with him? I dont think any 70yr old tourist should be dying of COVID in their hotel room. If they were that sick the arrangements should have been made to transfer them to hospital, somewhere. I hope nobody sent him home and told him to take a few Tylenol and call back in 2 days.

**All of these incidents point to extremely poor oversight of everything**. Exuma getting caught but its probably everywhere.

"*spoke with the minister of works about the matter. Without a definite plan, I was told that once the 600 feet test well is finished, work should commence ‘shortly thereafter.’”*

What does he mean without a definite plan? Shouldnt there be a plan if they're going to invest upwards of 10 million? The plan starts with the budget and timeline for the test well, then the plan says without this test well we experience x amount of flooding with y inches of rain in area-a through area-c. The test well will take 2 months to build. The test well is built to hold so many gallons of water. Here are the quality standards for the well: it should be surrounded by a fence, the fence should be 9ft tall, the base of the fence should be secured by concrete, there should be 5 danger of drowning signs around the well etc etc. If our plan functions as expected with the defined volume of rain, we should see flooding eliminated in area-a through area-c. We will then build 4 more wells for area-d through area-f to add to the test pool. Within a year we expect to have 10 built. If the test of the first well does not go as planned we will examine the results and adjust. This process should take 3 months. That's a plan. It may not be the best or most effective but it's a plan. It's a starting, living directive for a path to success.

Without a plan what do you expect?

This is a tough one. The recommendation was that the Island had suffered such severe damage that it not be repopulated. But no doubt, if those 60 persons had not claimed their birthright, some realtor would be now be saying how wonderfully things were going and would be adding multimillion dollar revenue from their sale of Ragged Island to a foreign entity.

At some point the govt made a policy decision to reinvest in Ragged Island. So this is bad:

"*According to residents on the island, Friday was the first time ... the MP for the island, Chester Cooper have visited for the year.*"... its August. Unlike other constituencies, I think these people do need to see their representative.... unless, so many things are happening that they have no doubt they havent been forgotten.

Having someone who can go into a community find out what is going on from bith sides and wirk to resolve an existing conflict is a great idea. BAMSI was a great idea. Beaches and Parks was a great idea. Urban Renewal was a great idea. The problem is our interpretation bastardization and corruption of the great idea. Invariably ALL of these great ideas fall subject to the award of jobs to completely unqualified family friends and lovers. We get the obvious results wasted money and good lovin.

I suppose youre right, it is rasy to criticize.

But... in a media appearance in 2021 she was asked what did Tourism learn during COVID and how were they preparing for a tourism rebound. Her answer, (not verbatim) ~"*we learned we need to clean up the place*". I dont know about you, but I would have expected some kinda deep analysis change strategy from Tourusm's top official, I think thats a fair critique. I think in the Bahamas we equate the ability to dress, speak well and apply flawless makeup with performance.

I recall a senior manager saying once of an employee in reference to an opening at the top of the organization, *she'd be more than qualified, you see how well she dresses?* #lanishaeffect. **Stephen Covey spoke about this, basically, the Dress for Success principle going awry and totally missing the need for Substance in the Suit.**
