did you hear about the case maybe 3 months ago(?) of the enraged girlfriend who lured her ex to her apt, then with a friend, proceeded to beat him with a baseball bat? They broke both his legs.

Poor boy. Nobody deserves this, I dont even know if the worst person in the world deserves this. I wonder if they intended to kill him or just hurt him but things got out of hand, now they have to cover the damage up.
Too many of these conferences aren't really planned to accomplish anything. They're simply tourism boosters. For private enterprises, like the crypto conference, it's nothing to do with innovation, it's all about 5000 per head, big money opportunities
I applaud the Assistant Commissioner, this is exactly the posture the Commissioner should have taken, he's in a leadership role, so there's no time for whining.

**So many issues... Cost isnt something you discover afterwards**. Its something you define up front, declare before you start, and then control, closely, to watch for and report deviations on over the lifetime of the project. It's not supposed to be, "Surprise!!"
I understand that Mr Sears is brilliant so I'm assuming these statements are simply to pacify the public. But we cant get anywhere if we continue to set these wishy washy slapdash expectations of how proper systems work.
