"*This was an initiative that didn’t have a precedent,*"

This is why we hire "managers". To handle things we've never done before. Its the very definition of a "project". *Something you've never done before*, anything else is "normal operations".

We need to stop excusinng chaos with *noone could have done better*. Corruption loves to hide in chaos. And theres no better chaos opportunity than disaster operations. They attract fraudsters. Katrina 500m dollars of them. There were basic things that could have preempted this entire situation, like hiring a real software firm. The entire report can be linked back to that one decision.

And these the people we supposed to trust with a 150 year lease on Paradise island? These people have told us to our face they think all Bahamians stupid. I expect an investor to try to get as much as they can but this is almost criminal. Someone had to be getting a bonus for this deal going through because I can't see a Bahamian selling out the country like this. But hey Dr Minnis tried to sell environmentally protected land to an unknown oil company exec charged with securities fraud who forged a document in front of him.... so maybe theres one Bahamian who would

All gifts appear to have this knee jerk reaction of either hiding or disavowing any knowledge of bad news. They'll day the release until a bigger story pops up to smother it.. watch and see.

What no govt appears to understand is, noone really forgets. #baseballstadium27million?

So you're counting on a corrupt PLP official stopping a corrupt FNM official from being investigated. Given our history it's certainly in the realm of possibilities. But my goodness that's not a defense I'd be using for a representative that I'd support to the death.

There's a few glaring differences between this and the Shane Gibson case. The biggest is the use of the word "fraud" in the audit report. Auditors do not randomly use that word, esprcially in this country, it means they have evidence. This isnt the usual "*the procedures werent followed*". Having evidence though doesnt say who's implicated. However the 2nd glaring difference is the seizure of Mr Gibsons rental cars. So my first question is did he have those cars prior to being appointed chairman? Not the company, the specific cars that were seized. I dont know about you but haven't heard of police seizing assets of a sitting MP in my lifetime.
This is an extra extraordinary event and I would assume required extra extraordinary justifications. The 3rd question is why were the assets siezed? Were they seized for non payment or for something else?

I'm not a supporter of either party. I had no love for foolishness committed under the FNM or the PLP, if a PLP or FNM shows me integrity, transparency hard work and accountability I'll support that person.

We cut down all the hills. East St, Gladstone Road, Collins Avenue. Its mindboggling that someone in power allowed it. I recall being driven home from school and wondering why they were destroying those beautiful hills. Used to watch Prospect Ridge and dream of how great it would be to walk through the brush like it was a real jungle...a few weeks ago I noticed the trees were thinning... what now??? When will we get it? When all the land running off into mud like Haiti?

East St is the most egregious case, not only did that developer cut down ALL of the hill to build a shopping mall, they cut the hill right under private homes. IF you want destroy yourself take you, not other people
