I wouldnt be using the word "targeted". If the police have gone as far as seizing vehicles I'd hope they have a reason to do so. I'd be spending my time questioning Mr Gibson on the source of his funds , especially as he's a sitting MP in "my" (meaning Pintard) party, especially if his wealth increased dramatically after he was appointed chairman. This is precisely the intent of the Disclosures act. So FNM do your due diligence
I understand Wayne Munroe's concern. The system we have for law and order says a convicted person is punished by sentencing then to a term in prison or a monetary fine. If the individual serves their time it is not fair for them to be punished again and again. Yes I know some crimes are egregious, then change the law so the punishment fits the crime. Society cant turn into a group of vigilantes and dole out punishment ad infinitum, that does noone good, least of all the vigilante
look at this: "*there was a fully staffed section devoted to managing the sexual offenders register, to ensure that all sex offenders sentenced as of that date were added to it*"
and this: "*Offenders sentenced since July 24, 2019, are placed on the register – with 27 offenders to date on the register*"
I dont mean to make light if it, but a whole unit to log sexual offenders? This sound like work for one summer student and one senior manager to vett the list... call the prison, give me a list of every sex offender who served time ... it could be that the "fully staffed unit" is 2 people
Straw man argument. (And I dont think NP is the Bahamas, by the mere fact that I said "*if you lived on NP*)
Your statement was *noone* did anything before Adrian showed up on a white horse. The fact that 70% of the population lives on NP and there was a major waterworks upgrade on that island does not equate to "nothing". Its why I used The NP example to belie your statement. If you want to make a statement that the family islands have been neglected, Ill agree with you on that. Ragged Island. Inagua. Mayaguana. Abaco and GB.
China hasn't banned International travel in totality since the start of the pandemic. Stop spreading mistruths. Even at this minute under an actual travel ban people are still allowed to travel internationally *if they have justification*. Secondly **every country's story is different because our borders are different. "Our" story points directly at tourism related spikes**
From 1918 intelligent people realized TRAVEL was the greatest risk of contagion spread. That's when they began quarantining travellers, i.e. sailors. What they also realized was quarantine was very difficult to maintain, humans always found ways around unnatural confinement
Now they're gonna work themselves into knots trying to explain why carnival is safe and increasing participation from 500 to 1200 makes sense. All while ignoring that their "controls" still resulted in a spike because nothing outsmarts COVID and a travel vessel
True. I get that medical professionals have to act even in the face of incomplete knowledge but this vaccine campaign and the refusal to listen to alternate ideas was anything but *first do no harm*
"*Ppl know that WSC did more under Minnis/Gibson across the country than at any other time in the past. What has WSC done so far under Brave, before or now?*"
This tells me your objectivity is way gone. WSC under Glen Laville executed a massive water improvement campaign waaaaay before anyone knew who Adrian or Minnis were. If you lived in Nassau you'd know about rusty water and white clothes and you'd know about non existant water pressure.
Theres still alot to do but Gibson shot himself in the foot when he got rid of a very effective engineer and general manager in weirdly enough what could only be described as a witch hunt
The minute Adrian Gibson uttered the words "*I thought I should have been appointed a cabinet minister*" it should have been a sign to the leadership that he was not ready to lead... anything. Whether this investigation turns up duck eggs or not it will be a long road for the country... (not "Long Island") to put any faith in him again.
