I believe you meant to say, "*how can a 2 year old child go missing for more than 20 mins and noone alerts the police*?" I wont say the other words you meant to say.
How much development is going on on harbour island that is foreign owned air bnb rentals? Is the island being over developed? Are the locals being locked out of the power grid as when they are ready to build their homes resources are all taken up by money rich foreign owners who dont even live on the island.
When these new developments are being proposed the planning **has** to extend to the power grid. Our power issues in NP are likely due to the new hotels and explosion of luxury second home communities... on top of age old corruption
The problem with the public health system is deeper than worker tallies. I
The biggest problem is quality of care, too many times I've had relatives given nonsense diagnoses as determined by review of symptoms by a proven professional. That is the hospital's most pressing problem, nobody cares about number of workers if the error rate is high.
The secondary problem is the facilities and supplies, not up to par. The final problem is number of workers. All need to be balanced for effective healthcare.
I would have loved for Brave Davis to have taken his recent health issue to identify how many warehouse workers, nurses, hairdressers, barbers etc etc are living with like pain having to stand all day, with no option to pay for costly surgeries or take 3 months break from work. Commiserate with those people and determine how you first reduce the rate of this very common injury and second if it's possible to bring relief to persons suffering. But no he spent the entire time talking about his few months of pain. Never too late but the weeks passed are telling
"*if Gardiner knew that he couldn't run or won't run, why give Bahamians false hope????*"
To everything **before** "*false hope*", because he's a world class athlete. They go until their body tells them no way.
To "*false hope*" specifically, we give that to ourselves. We hype up expectations for many of these meets based on emotion rather than reality. We guh win because we is The Bahamas. You need some of that, but reality also has to be in the mix. Up to today, nobody would even acknowledge that Shaunae was injured. I'm not surprised that she was not able to finish her race. But that doesnt make her less of an athlete to me because I didnt over hype my expectation.
Stevie is injured, he's been injured before, he's healed and continued to excel. There's noone else on the men's side who could run for us and medal. Let him recover for his next meet.
Stevie's job is to run, and his livelihood is based on funding from his sponsors. As much as The Bahamas means to him, we dont put food on his table. I dont think he'd arbitrarily drop a race.
They also said:
"*he's in distress whether pain or discomfort. Won't know until an examination is done... Claude Bryan, chief executive officer of "On Time Management," Gardiner's agents, confirmed that Gardiner had some issues around his left ankle and the tendon in that area.... He and his team had worked around the clock the past two weeks trying to get him in a state of ready for the title defense*"
I believe this will be the same for Shaunae. I'm told by an expert that hamstrings take 6 weeks to heal... actually more accurately, they are "*advised*" to take 6 weeks for healing. It's only been 4 weeks. If she had an easy race she might pull a win off by cruising, but this is the olympics that leg is going to be under stress... we'll know between tomorrow and Tuesday if she's ok.
For Bahamians who make it big, like major league athletes for example. Stay away from the wild parties and the people who try to drag you to the wild parties. Keep your feet planted in Grammy house... well .... unless grammy was trying to hide the automatic weapon as the police searched the house.

We actually dont need to know if he's "*seriously*" injured. The best news would be if he stopped at "*discomfort*" before a serious injury.
