Maybe we are **all** out of touch.

My first reaction was how can a 12 year old be walking alone at night? Why didnt someone call the police when she didnt show up that night?

**The mother explained a reality that many could not imagine but likely thousands live unseen.**

They have to walk an hour to and from the main road and traverse a track road through bushes to get to and from their house. They have no fridge so this trip has to happen daily to get food. This was not said, but realistically, its likely Ariel was responsible for some of these trips, in predawn and near dusk.

The mother is very angry. Who wouldnt be, myself and the world were attacking her for a situation she could not have changed. Just two weeks ago, the boyfriend walked to a church to check out the environment Ariel would be in to make sure it was safe.

Why didnt they check on Ariel? Why didnt they call the police? Because they have no phone. They have to make the 45minute walk, likely to end up looked down upon as bad parents for having a *fresh* child who doesnt come home at night. I dont know what decision I would have made. I'd like to think I'd risk the danger of 3AM 45minute walk down a deserted road. I een in their shoes.

For me the Marco's alerts were telling. They were clearly a reactive as opposed to proactive response as they were sent in close succession with one missing person report being two weeks old. Coming across a gruesome crime scene might spur the rapid transmission of 3 alerts.

**Please Mr Davis, no more 500,000 dollar trips to Botswana, no more 200,000 dollar cars or 2.5million dollar planes because you have to keep up with African leaders who live wealthy lives. Ariels in your country, with no reliable bus service, have to walk 45 minutes back and forth, through dirt roads in the dark just to eat.**

The "*group*" swam to a cay, so he was alive at the time. Was he injured? Did he have a health episode?

Did the company change their name to S&L or is that a different company?

Because they dont want the tax income to reflect reality. They want it to reflect their overly optimistic projections

"*“One of the things I think we really need to do in Nassau is rezone many communities currently designated for single-family homes to allow for multi-family housing,” Mr Wilson said yesterday.*"

This is a **baaad** idea. As in hindsight, while well intentioned, Elizabeth Estates was a bad idea. Not so much that it should not have been done, but that the impact on the surrounding peaceful communities had not been thought out and the risks mitigated.

If you want to rezone a community and build 28,000 low cost homes why not try Eastern Road and surrounding areas? The presence of sea views could at least have a calming effect on the new residents

Not so much the insurance company, but "Road Traffic". Road Traffic has to log the date of the insurance policy. So if you went into them today with your new policy that starts tomorrow, theyd reject it. Its nonsensical, but that's what happens when companies digitize, spend millions on software but dont actually test systems against real world scenarios. This is very common. Testing takes times, needs time to plan, resources to do it and costs money so most companies dont, they cross their fingers and pray for the best, make statements like, *nothing is perfect* or do "something" to pretend like they did it. Then they spend the next five years trying to work around all the problems they introduced

No better example than the insurance company that lost millions on newly installed improperly tested software that couldnt efficiently process claims. I believe it was Bahamas First

May 2024 Tribune article by Neil Hartnell: "*Bahamas First's Cayman subsidiary has been plagued with problems stemming from delays in processing claims as a result of introducing a new information technology (IT) system. Ms Treco conceded this had resulted in "a loss of business", with the improvements and corrections made unlikely to be fully felt until Bahamas First's 2025 financial year.*
