Why are the European nations, including the Dutch, now returning to intensive lockdowns? It is because this is the most effective way to control this pandemic. We Bahamians are too selfish. Just be cool for a few weeks, stay home, reduce social contact and wear those masks and we will have this thing under control. Please do not let short term freedom destroy our long term future. I wonder what nonsense Tribanon will belch about this documented reality.
Tribanon if you sat in the Prime Minister’s chair you would see the big picture. Fortunately, for the future of the Bahamas you do not, because if you did you would see the big picture. Your naive suggestions fail to take into consideration the myriad challenges and issues involved in this Covid-19 pandemic. To prattle off a few naive suggestions without the benefit of the big picture might be orgiastic for you but when you have to balance multiple challenges It is a different proposition.
An objective review of our Prime Minister’s handling of this unprecedented pandemic and the resultant crisis will show that his performance is exemplary. Look at the tens of thousands of our fellow Bahamians whose lives were saved as a result of these lockdowns.
After you objectively calculate the costs and benefits of the Government’s handling of this pandemic you will be left with the easy conclusion that it has done the best that can be done under the circumstances.
Dr. Minnis and his Cabinet colleagues are not sadistic and take delight in the dying of their brothers and sisters. It takes a perverted mind like the one possessed by Tribanon to make such an imputation.
This is precisely the kind of pointing of fingers one would expect from a political party that has lost its way. The leader of this discredited PLP party is now trying to score political points on a topic that is apolitical.
Our Government is doing everything that is possible to contain this virus and yet we hear that it is their fault. This is the kind of response one gets in the Bahamas from those seeking to regain office after destroying the nation with its corrupt policies and politics.
We must also not forget that the post treatment effects of the COVID-19 virus become manifest for years to come. And Mr. Davis’ behavior is an example of this. He is talking out of both sides of his mouth while trying to make hay when the sun shines.
Was it not the PLP that destroyed our health care system?
Please leave the Government to do the job it is doing under the most difficult circumstances. Thank you.
And please allow the Honorable Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis to continue his stewardship of our nation without these puerile criticisms at a time when we have to close ranks. God Bless you Dr. Minnis.
Hopefully now we will understand that this Covid-19 virus is a true pandemic and that stern measures are required. The most recent re-introduction of the lockdown measures is the only rational thing to do.
While we will all be inconvenienced we have to look at the greater good. Please let us accept the Prime Minister’s leadership, knowledge and insight on this one. Whether or not you support the FNM or PLP this pandemic requires bipartisan support. And unless we come together and act as a nation undivided by politics we will not beat this thing back.
Our Prime Minister is to be commended. We should be grateful for his leadership. May God continue to bless and keep him.
What a bunch of foolishness. You make absolutely no sense. Do the research, read the current literature and stop being confused. Lockdowns are the most effective way in controlling this virus. Why is England, Spain, Israel And a number of countries introducing new lockdowns ? Is it to inconvenience their citizens? Or is it to save their lives? Pray tell the Bahamian people the truth. When this pandemic is over, and hopefully soon, we will look back at the wisdom of our Government. God Bless Prime Minister Hubert Minnis.
This is bad news. The use of marijuana is dangerous and will destroy our youth who are the future of our nation. Do not decriminalize this gateway drug and contribute to our nation becoming a gateway country for drugs exportation. While it appears to be politically popular in some quarters the facts from the medical experts do not support the decriminalization of this dangerous drug. Look for an increase in diabetes and obesity if this drug becomes easily available.
This is the understatement of the century, albeit totally inaccurate and palpably incorrect. He should have said, “ I am currently in the worst condition more so than I thought with respect to my mental health, political popularity and capacity to grasp reality that the PLP is a finished party.”
Throw in your luck with the FNM. Go with the winner. Avoid the losers, the PLP. Use some of those “retained earnings” earned during your time in Office. Good luck. Do not look only at the costs, look at the benefits .
