Tal... the point is they all seem woefully incompetent at their reputed profession. None of them should talk when you consider how much they actually suck at doing what they're supposed to do, or what they say they will or can do. But still they MUST talk because they are supposed to represent the people, and what is being said reflects the thoughts of alot of citizens.

That said, more than ever now is the time for the people to effect positive change. We know the gov't won't help us, but God helps those who help themselves.

What the politicians need to be aware of is their illusions of grandeur.

What i have notice about this administration is that according to them they can do no wrong, it is everyone else who is wrong. They actually think they big. If and when US tourist stop coming here then what?

Probably they'll start a tourism campaign targeting Haitian tourist as their last resort to survive. That would be poetic justice and what this administration deserves. Sadly, it is not what the Bahamian people deserve....

I sympathize with this movement to a level, but am cautious with the concept that:

“We have made up our minds that peace in our nation is our priority and we will take our country back by force, with zero tolerance for crime at all levels.”

You don't calm down an angry person by shouting at them and hitting them, you do it by being calm and concerned. Same way you do not stop criminals by exercising criminal behaviour on them (extra-judicial killings).

If you think fighting crime fire with fire works.... look up the situation in Venezuela. The more Police shoot people in the street, look for more police to get shot too. Look at Jamacia.

I agree with a return to Christian values, it is peace and love that will reduce crime here

Dese jheds keep saying 'Root of the issue' 'Root of the issue' and when you look close... Parental Responsibility Bill.... apparently it's the Bahamaian family that is to blame for everything.

This is truely insulting. Crime is going up due to harsh socio-economic conditions, and a governmental inability to even maintain, let alone develop effective social outreach and employment programs.

One example, the gov't agreed with having a ton of chinee workers come to bungle up the Baha Mar construction. Even when Izzy wanted to get rid of the Chinses construction company and employ Bahamian contractors he was met with opposition from the gov't who claims to have the Bahamians best interest in mind (which is one of the most obvious falsehoods in the world today). Y'all should know how that's working out for everyone now...

Then, when out of desperation people resort to desperate acts such as theft etc. the gov't turns around and blames the family.

So it is some scapegoat concept of family (not any actually identified material entities) that is the 'Root of the issue' apparently.

Lets criminally charge and/ or deport Bahamian families then, and crime will be better, right?

PLP's magic wand is secretly get rid of the Bahamians, get rid of the problem. So y'all fool go vote for them it's yaself who ga pay.

'Police say' is an issue, and many are right to point out that that in and of itself is not due justification for everything, yet it is accepted by many as an ultimate truth. People always always always forget that police are people too. and criminals are people too. The way y'all is carry on is like the world is black and white.

Tal is right that these need to be investigated, and done so properly, not just saying that some commish is working on it.... which is like all the other lies the gov't tells us... a lie.....

What kill me doe is how they bad up the mother and the people in the community. Break up they phone and thing. Bey i seen cops do that already, dats why i ein know why people is so quick to side with PEOPLE just because they are COPS.... they are still people, capable to bending the truth, and making mistakes.

I truely feel for the mother who had to watch her son die, and got criminal charges and haul in jail for doing so. I suppose the cops were justified in badding up the people too, and destroying their personal property (phones).

It hard to imagine such needless aggressive and inhuman behaviour would come from a Saint Cop who only shot back in defence of his/ her life. Rather it seems to make the profile on an individual who would abuse power and use excessive, lethal force.

Some of y'all is just talk fool endlessly, yinna need look at the real issues

“The policies enunciated though tough, are necessary because they are designed to address the root causes of crime and effect social re-engineering which is a significant and critical strategic component in the long term and permanent solution to crime,”

'enunciated' and 'designed'... in other words it is and has always just been talk, and knowing how these bey dem lie... prob all that talk and 'design' is lie too.

Start with paying the police properly! that would be the most obvious first step!!!! and still the gov't act like they don't want to pay police, instead they want to criminally charge parents for bad parenting.... which will only result in increased administrative work in the justice system. And while we're trying to tackle an alarming unemployment rate, lets increase the barriers to work by criminally charging parents, leaving them and their disenfranchised children even more suppressed by this gov'ts stupidity.

This is the great plan?
