“I don’t even understand what is being implied, it is ridiculous the level people would stoop to. Every company has to be incorporated and law firms do it and then step away. There is no connection.”
I don't think a firm that 'incorporates an entity/business can be said to have shares in said company! However, when the Rubis ordeal occurred, I think it would have been in Mr. & Mrs. Fitzgerald's best interest to have initiated the conversation and clarify the connection. Thus, reassuring the public that Mrs. Fitzgerald will not be handling any litigation etc in any shape or form with her Firms previous clients; The Rubis/Texaco Corp. The Bahamas is a small country and the fact that I am a MP's spouse and in her position these situations can happen and I understand the conflict of interest. So again, from the 'conception' of this entire ordeal, I feel there should've been steps taken to assure his supporters of his, as well as his family's transparency on the matter!
We're not gonna let you off the hook that easily Fritz!!! Get it together! : (
"And if you have an electrical grid that is failing, you can’t blame the man for being frustrated that it is taking so long for the matter to be remedied or rectified. He would’ve expected to receive the kind of attention that comes along with a $3b investment to ensure that it has the kind of electrical supply that it can run seamlessly,” he said."
I understand Mr. Rollins stance, and I agree with him. But this point in particular doesn't sit well with me in defending Mr. Izmirlian's case.. How is it that you can put sooooo much money into such a project and not know the previous history of the facilities that would be used to power such an enterprise??? The issues we have been facing with BEC is ongoing for many many years now so how is it that this was not a forethought by all parties attached to this venture?! The audacity of anyone to come across as if they were blindsided by the mess that now ensues? The monies that was pumped into the roads could've been pumped into BEC perhaps? Roads don't slow down progress.. take a look at Providenciales in Turks and Caicos! They have 5 star mega resorts and yet the roads are sh*t!! The High-end clientele that frequents those islands doesn't give a shit about the surrounding environment as long as the accommodations are up to par with what was being advertised by a Mega Resort such as this! Which unfortunately, in our (The Bahamas) case, can't deliver on their promises this early in the game. (TripAdvisor)
I really don't think the public wants to hear Rubis' rehearsed rhetoric that the fuel leak is not in any way a hazard to neighboring residents! What the public NEEDS are real journalist to ask probing questions on their behalf in regards to this very serious situation. Commenter TalRussell just gave an example of such vital forms of questioning. I don't see why one must come here to just read whatever the hell it is that Rubis had already prepared to say to the public to cover their as***s!
And how I know these so called 'journalists' are not asking the right questions, if any at all is because I have yet to see an interviewee been put on the spot where they have declined to answer. Never!!!!
