“It’s been hard enough to get parents to take vaccines voluntarily – now it will be a challenge to get the children of those same parents to get their jabs, even if it does make it safer for them to return to school.” Why add that paragraph? From a TRUE public health perspective most children are already “safe to return to school”. The science is clear…healthy children are not at risk. Sick children will be at risk, and at risk of bringing germs home whether they are jabbed or not. The science is clear. The jab does not stop you from getting the virus, neither does it stop you from transmitting it; it is believed to stop people from dying from the virus yet healthy children barely get sick and do not die from this virus. When do we start to address the real problem…? The general health of our nation! The article is closer to the truth in its focus on the school environment. We are failing our children if we are failing to provide clean, mold-free, VOC free, environments for learning. However, we would also greatly improve the learning curve of our children if they were able to nourish themselves on wholesome food rather than cheap fast food and sugar drinks! And as a nation we should be ashamed of our lack of character building and healthy emotional support, things a child needs to feel secure and able to focus on their learning while enjoying the enriched environment healthy people are able to give them!
The hypocrisy of COP26….the carbon emissions getting all those persons to Scotland to talk about the problems of carbon emissions! To promote electric cars while talking about the rising risk of flooding, in which electric cars will fail. Discussing the need for alternative energy infrastructure investment which means more production and thus more industry emissions! The consideration and planning of more nuclear power while being told the of the increasing likelihood of catastrophic storms and the resultant damage and flooding, which would put places like Turkey point into melt down! And so it goes on…..oh the folly of mankind…the gnawing cancer of a species so supposedly smart it is blinded by its own ego!
Once upon a time….. Lead was ok in paint. OxyContin was an ok pain killer. Thalidomide stopped pregnancy sickness. Mercury was used in teeth. And the list goes on…and on..and on...until years later the data is in and …..(who pays the cost of the morbidity and mortality?) Trust in profit making companies and those they sponsor, fund, grant etc etc….is going through a long, and likely painful, death; but so are those they have milked and abused.
The more these so called “authorities”, “experts”, and government itself, open their mouths the clearer the lies and hypocrisy become as the prophesies of the so called “conspiracy theorists” are fulfilled! Lord have mercy and come quickly!
If we look close enough and patiently enough at our world we will see that there is change. Man has helped push that. Industrial revolution and agricultural revolution…and then big, trans continental corps have exploited the planet beyond sustainability for profits….where is there accountability ??????
Let’s be realistic…PMH, even without Covid, is highly unlikely to have saved the life of a 99yr old woman under the best of circumstances. Death is a certainty in life. A truly Christian nation knows this and embraces its reality. It is sad that the sadness of personal loss is being used as a propaganda stunt to promote a blinkered ideology. A wider look at the reality facing us is the unbiased science, and lack thereof, in a capitalist, profiteering world during a pandemic when NOBODY’s profits should be up; least of all in the health, pharmaceutical, and food industries! I’m no economist but I do know health, public health, science, facts, and data. There is a wider conversation here of course…the fact that people’s diets contribute to more death annually than Covid has done, even without vaccine, yet there is still the freedom to choose sugary drinks and saturated fast-food without heavy taxes to offset the financial burden of diabetes, stroke, heart attack, respiratory complications, obesity, hypertension, hormonal disruption, etc etc etc….! God blessed Janey with many years, may He have mercy on her soul and grant her rest.
Being the nature of the word “business”, Agribusiness, like any other business will have its sights set on profits rather than quality. We are already a nation with little top-soil, which is nutrient depleted, a climate that is fickle with its rain, with a consumer who is already grossly unhealthy and a failing health system unable to cope with the modern climb of life-style and diet related disease….add to this the need to make a profit which will incentivize more GMO seeds, more pesticides, more Glyphosate in particular, and the further burden on the health system of our nation and we will become a complete disaster and ever more dependent on a big, elite, entity. Rather than directing any focus in the future towards any-“business” this island nation would do better incentivizing a mindset of artisanal pride. It should make GMO seed and Glyphosate importation illegal. It should support projects which support farmers, like composting, farming botanical pesticides, natural soil enhancement, being organic, and using a permaculture ideology. It should work with other lateral organizations to support programs which encourage recycling of materials like glass jars for bottling, preserves, and pickling, Straw baskets for the display (and even recyclable transport(?) of produce. Government needs to encourage people to independently manage such programs, set up networks, and create a community of food producing artisans who take pride in feeding people and keeping the nation healthy rather than chasing the dollar. The focus on profiteering has always been an evil that ultimately undermines the freedom of human beings!!! What else would a nation which calls itself “Independent” do? Perhaps it’s time to grow a “family” of island persons, not a culture of business(?).
Persons holding political level appointments must tender their resignation? Why would this be? Conflict of interest and loyalty much? Hmmm…me thinks not pledging allegiance to HRH the Queen along with all the other Ministers is the same thing…?
Question: do we think the swearing in of all the new Ministers, and their Ministers of State, fills this wise advice? Perhaps the Ministers of State pay-rolls will be justified by the savings made in looking over everyone’s shoulders to wipe out corruption and gain transparency? Did we get Meritocracy?
