Well said, M. Thompson. You are so right about majority rule but it seems that when the government wants to place responsibility anywhere but with themselves, they pull the race card. The problem with placing responsibility where it does not belong is that change never takes place. It is time to realize there is no minority white group holding down the majority black group. The majority black group holds the solutions.
So true. The government gives nothing to the Humane Societies in the country. They are happy to let hard working volunteers both local and foreign work to contain the stray populations here. It is a disgrace.
I am glad the police did that. I was in a traffic accident once, badly injured and waiting for the ambulance to arrive. People were videotaping me and I was completely helpless to stop it. It is sick when people want to take photos or videotape people when they are so vulnerable. I applaud the Police Commissioner for his stand on this.
Well said. It's all about blaming the victims (females) and not holding the perpetrators (males) responsible for their actions. The older sister was no hero for giving her underage sister a cut hip, she might have been if she gave it to the adult perpetrator.
I agree fully with Ms. Burnside's comments for the majority of people. However, Ms. Burnside what would you say to the poor in our country? The people who don't have electricity because they can't afford it, therefore they have no appliances to turn off, the people who already can barely afford the sardines and grits for their families, the people working two jobs who don't have time to do backyard farming, if they even have a back yard, in fact, the people who won't even see your letter because they cannot afford a computer or internet? Don't forget these are the people who are going to be the hardest hit by this tax; for them the glass is empty.
Yes, the government blatantly ignores the demands of the people. Mr. Goff wonders if it is because the Bahamian people haven't tried hard enough. When listening to people I get the feeling that people don't know how to get it to stop. People have become quite vocal in the media and on social media and have been ignored and they don't know what else to do. Perhaps it needs someone to show the way. Or perhaps it needs some crisis or tipping point for someone to step up and lead the way.
Why wouldn't you trust the pilots to fly you? BahamasAir has never had a crash in their history of flying. How many airlines have that record? By the way, it is the ongoing crime that is causing immeasurable damage to tourism not a one day strike.

Ignore the naysayers and negative comments Dr. Neville. Continue what you're doing; there are people listening.
