The historical problem with Freeport Grand Bahama started right after Sir. Lynden made his bend or break speech; the speech had to be made! However, because of it PLPgovernments, Port Authority and later the FNM governments took a negative stance on Freeport. Instead of moving forward, each entity stayed steeped in negativism on Freeport. Even in good times, but now, finally realizing the mistake; they are trying to revive Freeport durig a slump world economy. The solution for Freeport is to legislate All of Grand Bahama as a Freeport Island and open it up to every type of local and foreign investments and development. Unfortunately our political leaders are patsies and cannot think out of the box. Therein is the real problem!

The US war on drugs over 50 years has seen an escalation of drugs many times over in the US and elsewhere. More drugs are produced in the US than ever before - it is the same old system at work of supply and demand. Americans love drugs and have money to pay for them. US prisons are full of blacks that were busted for a joint or less than an ounce of weed. The war on drugs is an endless war. There ought to be another approach to the issue! Perhaps the British can help to find a way - they signed a treaty with the Chinese in 1884 - that no opium will be sent to the West on any ships - other than British ships.

Obomber is just a continuation of Americanism. The job is bigger than him and every US president. He just happens to be Black - it does not really mean much; when the same policy continues. The US president along with a majority of representatives in Congress and Senate are controlled by the moneyed elites, corporations, AIPAC, Neocons, military industrial complex and special interests - they, historically controls the politics of the USA. War being the mainstay for those entities to make money and consolidate power - thereby producing wealth in creating wars and from the spoils of war - that is what makes America - America. That is the history of the land of the free and the home of the brave.

The United States is one of; if not the biggest producer/user of WMD - from its inception - smallpox against the native Indian people, syphilis use on Negros in the US, nuclear weapons on Japan, agent orange on Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia, infecting Guatemalans with STDs, CIA released of whooping cough virus on Tampa Bay, US Navy sprayed San Francisco with bacterial pathogens and many citizens developed pneumonia. It supplied chemical weapons to Iraq to use against Iran, its use of depleted uranium in Iraq, supplier of nuclear technology to Israel among other WMD; not to mention destabilization of governments in Central and South America, Africa and Asia. All of them preemptive, with over 7,000 bases around the world. Supporter of dictatorships and regimes that supports its skullduggery hegemonic actions around the world. They are the masters of anti UN mandates - hinderer of any country’s development that does not subscribe to its control. Now it is onto Syria (ironically a former colony of the French) The US and its allies in the West and ME are supplying terrorists with weapons against a country that is older than Europe. Newly discovered oil and gas offshore Turkey, Greece, Syria, Lebanon and Israel - is one of the biggest oil and gas fields in the world. Could this pending US preemptive on Syria be - what it appears to be, a pseudo-humanitarian strike by the US; or for the control of geo-resource in the region - as it were in Afghanistan; where poppy production has grown three fold? Obama is actually worse than George W. as a “peaceful warmonger” [sic] - even though folks expect him to be better…, “he does not have a moral center”- as quoted by a member of a Black women’s delegation that met with him. Being a black US president does nothing for the Black community in the US (that wants so desperately to assimilate) or the West - look out your window and see how racism and ethnic profiling continues to dis-empower Blacks in the West. However, the hate mode today (not new) is against Muslims and countries that will not bow to US ideology. France’s colonial history is not any better; its much the same as the British and other European colonizers. After Europeans took gunpowder from China, two hundred years later they took control of the world, people and resources. Up to now they still have control of the gun, power, resource and most of the people. Naturally the West wants to keep control of it - even though they are slowly loosing it through their decadence, lewdness, hypocrisy and warmongering. The Bahamas is fully controlled by the US and it does not need the gun to control us - all the US has to do is threatens to pull the tourist card or the banking card etc., and our politicians will jump to any length.

Branville McCartney ought to get out there in the wilderness with his people for the next four years and work the people - to get elected in the next election. Unless, he wants a quick fix, by kissing up to the FNM again..., now that his guru, Hubigerty is gone. These politicians don’t need to charge people for their plays. The people already bought tickets to their act when they voted them in - man what a show this is!

The PLP boy is Peter Nygard and the FNM boy is Louis Bacon! Let’s be clear about this! Two foreigners fighting each other and has our politicians fighting on each selected side. So what? - its nothing new! Politicians only need the people for votes. After they are elected; do you really think they will make policies for the people or for the moneyed elites? The people ought to get a life and realize all politicians everywhere are vampires and the closest to them in kind are mosquitoes that suck your blood! Look out your windows at the world and see the nature of politicians - then you can realize what we are dealing with. Unfortunately the condition of the people (the 99%) is sheep to the slaughter. Look again at history, unfortunately - that condition will only change with more of the same: exploitation of the masses for the good of the plutocrats and their running dogs - their gatekeeper politicians!

A referendum – to amend the Constitution to say what? The referendum is to give the government approval to follow others; with their liberal same sex equal rights in marriage and Greek democracy type rights that would legally change the tradition of male and female union of marriage. What ought to happen before the referendum is - the entire nation must to briefed on every aspect (word for word) on what will be amend and added in the constitution. Otherwise, it is a blank cheque to lawyer politicians for unacceptable and offensive standards of behaviour to a so called religious society; including other things that will be entered into an amendment to the constitution. Of course many Bahamians will accept anything - they don’t check…, that is a real problem!
