The Defense Force (RBDF) needs to operate drones to monitor the border of the Bahamas.
Illegal immigrants, poaching, illegal fishing etc. We must stop relying on foreigners to do our job policing our boarders.

VDSheep says...

Bahamas future needs a bipartisan understanding (agreement) between all political parties and the Bahamian people. We ought to look at Bahamian future in 20 - 50 and 100 years plans. Our leaders has developed policies and plans for the country in slots of five years since colonial days. If the Bahamas is going to move forward - politicians need to get away from their silly five year planning syndrome! They have centralized the country - based on the seat of government in Nassau, New Providence. The fact that New Providence has reached it's limit in terms of population and investment bears true to life. We must diversify the country in development, investment trade, population etc. The Bahamas has enormous potential for growth in areas outside of New Providence. Bring in foreign investments in the various energy fields and train Bahamians in collage and university in the disciplines of:
geothermal,
Oil,
Natural gas,
Wind,
Solar,
Tidal,
Hydroelectric power from current through cuts (underwater turbine) and make no mistake about it -
Hydrogen energy will be the way of the future!

VDSheep says...

The Bahamas is well place for renewal energy. Wind, solar, tidal, wave, hydro through Cuts ( put turbines at the bottom to turn generators), terminal energy, hydrogen energy and fuel cells etc. Although the long range energy economy will be Hydrogen. It is ludicrous that our colonial minded government(s) are still looking - only at the tourist card on the economy. Whereas; the need for foreign investment ought to be in the area of alternative energy. Bring investors in the various disciplines - let them set up on an island like Mayaguana, Cat Island or Abaco; give duty free on all research and development…, a Freeport energy research and development. Make the legislation to govern it - institute the curriculums in the various disciplines in COB and the university. Political parties come together with bipartisan plans for the Bahamas over 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 years on where the Bahamas ought to be with each party contributing to the plan when they are in power. We need to move forward - get away from the five year policy syndrome our politicians continues to keep!

Once a drone targets the culprit…, all it needs to do is give the coordinates to the RBDF or RBPF and they will intercept the target. The technology is available now - why are we not doing this people?!

VDSheep says...

Drones are quite cheap many countries and agencies within them are using surveillance drones. The Bahamas can have fleets of them made to order - train Bahamians in the RBDF to use them, set up stations around the country to use them to monitor illegal entry, poaching, fishing out of season, rescue operations and many other services. Buying and operating them is cheaper than buying one blue water Defence Force vessel. The radius for operating a drones without satellites is hundreds of miles. I hope someone with political influence can make this happen for the Bahamas to take control of our own country surveillance, now! The powers that be (The PM, Minister of National Security, Leader of the Opposition and concerned citizens - you too Mr. McCartney) must be convinced to make it happen!

VDSheep says...

Absolutely! Not only modernize - but control by the Bahamas. Not by the US, NATO or any foreign entity! For too long the Bahamas depends on foreign entities to protect our borders. NATO is using drones for surveillance, the US has helicopters, planes, satellites, ships, submarines and who knows what within our borders. Yet, we get illegals into the central Bahamas and beyond and Bahamian authorities know nothing about them being here - Why? Those foreign entities has their own agenda in our country! We ought to set up drones stations in Ragged Island, Inagua, Acklins/Crooked Island, Long Island and Mayaguana etc. Surveillance drones can be bought or made to order and very affordable. We don’t need satellites to operate drones within aerial signal line of sight radius. Our Government(s) needs to get away from this traditional house boy colonial mentality and start being patriotic Bahamians! There is more to say on this issue!

VDSheep says...

Immigration department must check out many other places in the country.
Too many foreigners are here working - without a work permit. Further, many work permits ought not be issued for jobs Bahamians can do. Musha Cay Exuma has one foreign supervisor for each worker, and a history of discriminatory working relations from Bahamian workers point of view. What does that tell you? Immigration needs to do a better job in finding illegal workers in the country - and stop many local immigration officials from looking the other way.

Nygard said to Bacon let’s work together for the common good of the Bahamas.
But the dogfights continues on an on, with proxies here lawyers there - one’s propaganda trying to outdo the other’s propaganda. Why don’t’ you two guys as do good philanthropists set up an special “trust”…; each put in around $500 million - each appoint an equal amount of board members to run it. For the betterment of the Bahamian peoples‘ interest - if you really love the Bahamas; instead of wasting time, money and embarrassmet fighting each othe like a couple of morons all over the place!

On Bacon says sorry for confusion
