I am sick and tired of hearing about illegal immigrants coming into the country – all the way to New Providence and beyond and the authorities do not know they are in the county until it’s too late! All governments PLP and FNM has not given the RBDF the tools to monitor our borders! Yet ‘ they (PLP & FNM) allows NATO and the US to have drones in our air space – and we do not have any of our own. Either that is the colonial house boy syndrome or they - (PLP & FNM) are incompetent of protecting the country’s border! We must have our own Bahamas drone surveillance system – in that way the operation can monitor vast areas – and when there is an illegal entry ‘ coordinates are passed on to the RBDF in real time; they can interdict the illegals and we can have control of our domain! The technology is available ‘ and affordable – and so can someone tell me that I am wrong in this regard?

It’s the same old hegemonic syndrome that has made those people rich – by plundering the worlds people and taking resources by whatever means necessary. That “means” today with the Bahamas is their abilities to use money ‘ coupled with their monopolies of tours agents and the like to control the customers’ agenda in their favour - to whiteball [sic] Bahamians in their own country – look at history ‘ you must have seen this before over and over. They will come in and take bread out of your mouth.

No one is forcing anyone to do anything other than obey the laws of the country as you would do in any country. USA has a population of around 350 million – and lots of resources and land. The Bahamas has a population of around 350 thousand ‘ with little land and little resources – we cannot just give it up to be swallowed up and have nothing – that makes no sense. We are the first in this hemisphere in commerce ‘ banking ‘ and so-called democracy – if you’d call the others democracies. However - we must protect our people rights to survive economically. We must face off with the super pirates that wants to come in and take it all from us!

VDSheep says...

Any sensible government is the only power that can legislate protection of resources for the Bahamian people. If a government fail to protect the interest of its people in lieu of others – then the people will suffer ‘ history is full of examples - just look out your window.

I don’t believe the fly fishing industry should be controlled by non-Bahamians – internally or externally ‘ by having it sold abroad to benefits foreign lodges. Whatever happened to fishing regulations – Fly fishing is a Bahamian resource – there is the need to have it sanctioned as a preferred Bahamian entity the whole ten yards lodges ‘ boats ‘ guides etc.

Fly fishing in the Bahamas is a natural resource – a resource that Bahamians must control. When we allow the big exploiters to come in and monopolize this natural resource – we will be replaced like many peoples’ around the world that lost control of their resources. Bahamians are not xenophobic ‘ quite the contrary – but if Bahamians continue to give away the Bahamas ‘ our politicians will be even more in the pockets of foreign dictators’ and not prudent enough to represent the interests of their constituents – Bahamians. At the same time ‘ we - as a people generally don’t get it. Often - we are too influenced by wealthy foreigners insisting on us giving up the few small resources we have - to earn a living and keep control of our country. It is appalling for any government to even consider such a request! This is only one example where we need to draw the line! Fight strongly against any government bent on giving away the interests of Bahamians. The control of fly fishing is in the interest of Bahamians!
