The laws, regulations and rules protecting the jobs of persons employed by government departments and agencies must be revised to more easily allow for the dismissal of persons for just cause. These laws, regs and rules are much too improperly balanced in favour of government employees. This situation has evolved under the guise of preventing political victimization that often comes about with a newly elected corrupt government that wants its own loyal supporters holding key positions throughout government. Sadly though, this is one of the reasons why our civil workforce has become so grossly over-bloated in size. With each change in government, public sector employees are shuffled around because they cannot be dismissed while new employees loyal to the new government of the day are hired to fill key positions or newly created positions. Therefore, in addition to allowing easier dismissal for just cause, we need to expect and accept the need for greater government employee turnover, especially as regards key positions, everytime there is a change in government.

> THE Bahamas has not been advised to impose any travel or trade restrictions following the deadly coronavirus outbreak that has spread from China to the United States, health officials revealed yesterday.

Why is our government waiting on the WHO orPAHO to advise travel restrictions? Do these international organizations really have any idea of the large numbers of Red Chinese traveling back and forth between the Bahamas and Red China? And what about the many Bahamians who now travel to and from Red China?

Not the case at all. Just vote for one of the independent candidates who will be running in your constituency in the next national election. It's high time the electorate cast aside both the PLP and FNM parties alike and let the chips fall where they may. If enough independents are elected they could either form a new majority party or at least stymie the ability of the PLP or FNM to take overwhelming control of the next government. The corruptness of both the PLP and FNM parties necesitates voters going into 'block and tackle mode' at the ballot box come the next general election. Only candidates with no past close political ties of any kind to the PLP or FNM parties, and who pledge in writing never to join either those two parties, should be considered as viable candidates for elected office going forward.

You can't believe anything coming out of Dion Foulkes's mouth. This guy has always been a con man and no friend to Bahamian labourers, especially less qualified blue collar workers.

And its well known that Dion Foulkes and John Pinder have all along been providing cover for Red Chinese investors getting their way. Neither Foulkes nor Pinder could care less about whether qualified Bahamian workers are wrongfully left without jobs because of the desire by greedy Red Chinese investors to breach their contractual commitments made to government by importing cheap unqualified labourers from Red China and elsewhere who are then subjected to abusive labour practices that should not be tolerated in our country.

Foulkes is a useless and loathesome dinosaur who should be made to permanently retire from active politics by the voters in his constituency.

I have a much greater chance of finding the pot of gold at the end of the next rainbow that appears over the Bahamas than BPC has in finding oil anywhere in the Bahamas. But there are many fools out there who are all too easily parted from their money by the unscupulous institutions that they have turned the management of their money over to.
