Minnis, Bannister, Moxey and Heastie believe it's okay to put very expensive new technologically complex plant equipment in the hands of D- educated operating personnel who like to be referred to as "technicians". I would not let a one of these so called Bahamian "technicians" touch my new $30,000 simple home generator, let alone a $100 million ($100,000,000) highly complex piece of new Watsila generating equipment.
> “A civilised society cannot long survive if the administration of justice, and the administrators of the system of justice, can be subjected to such apparent threats aimed at their continued employment as Members of the Bar or as Law Enforcement Officers,” said Mr Bethel.
Someone needs to tell our very mangy pot-cake AG that a civilized society cannot last long if incompetent administrators of the system of justice are hired and kept on the payroll no matter what. Keith Knight, a Jamaican QC, has greatly embarrassed all Bahamians by proving in the very high profile Frank Smith and Shane Gibson corruption trials the disgraceful extent of incompetency that now exists throughout our mismanaged, weak and dysfunctional system of justice.
And here we see our very incompetent AG seeking to offer protection for those responsible for our lame criminal justice system; a disgracefully embarrassing system that undoubtedly would have great difficulty in obtaining a guilty verdict on a single count of evil against Satan himself!
Birdie's point is that many of them would not even be in our country today were it not for the despicable likes of Darville and Smith promoting their invasion of the Bahamas.
These extortionist rate increase bonds are going to leave many Bahamians without an affordable supply of electricity. Our country as viewed at night by satellites orbiting high above the earth is going to look like the darkest parts of North Korea at night.
And just think for a moment: About $200 million of the funds to be raised by the rate 'increase' bonds will be used to pay the outrageously generous pension benefits owed to the very same executives and other employees of BPL/BEC who ran this government owned enterprise right into the ground. Minnis, Turnquest and Bannister are proposing that all but the politically connected 'do-not-disconnect' consumers of electricity simply bend over and take a royal shafting in the form of exorbitant and extortionist light bills for the next 20 years. The vast majority of us are going to find ourselves having to live in darkness for most of the year and sweltering in the heat of summer.
Leandra Rolle and others like her at The Tribune just don't give two hoots about the many 'true' Bahamians who are struggling to make ends meet, many of whom can't feed their children, can't afford medicine, can't pay their light bill and essentially are living in abject poverty. Yes indeed, there are plenty of impoverished 'true' Bahamians in our society today. But all The Tribune ever wants to write about is the plight of the Haitian nationals who have entered our country illegally, many of whom have fraudulently acquired official papers of one kind or another from corrupt officials in our immigration department or corrupt government officials in other departments.
Meanwhile 'true' Bahamians must contend with their public education system and their public healthcare system being crushed under the weight of many thousands of unsustainable leeching parasitic illegal aliens whose main objective seems to be to reproduce as many of their own as they possibly can within the shortest time frame possible.
The crux of the problem in dispensing justice in our country today is that our jury pools are made up of way too many of the same kind of D- educated individuals who are all too willing to vote for a political candidate like Shameless Shane. Like Frank Smith before him, Shameless Shane was able to take great comfort in knowing he would be judged by a jury made up of a majority of 'his kind of D- educated voter'. And of course QC Knight knew exactly the type of juror to select among his picks for both the Frank Smith and Shameless Shane trials. The writing was on the wall as to the outcome of these trials from the very outset. But at the time the very arrogant, nasty, deceitful and vindictive Minnis needed something to help distract the people's attention away from the whopping 60% increase in VAT that he inflicted on them.
In the run up to the last general election I kept saying "think, think, think" before you vote for Minnis or any other FNM candidate, but too many of you were blinded by your hatred of Vomit Christie and the very corrupt PLP to see the true evil within Minnis.
