Just about anyone, except of course those who received a D- education in our failed and dysfunctional public education system, can do the basic maths and learn for themselves that Desmond Bannister is lying through his teeth. Our electricity bills are going to be much higher, in fact multiples of times higher, than the amounts he would have you believe. And here's how you know Bannister is nothing but a pathological liar: The interest amounts (rates) to be paid on the bonds have not even been determined yet, and that's because our government has only recently found out that the agents for the prospective bond holders are demanding outrageously high interest rates as a result of their careful due diligence. Pay no attention to anything the very deceitful Bannister has to say. The truth is Bahamians are about to be saddled by the Minnis-led FNM government with humongous increases in their electricity bills for many years to come, the likes of which they have never seen before and most likely will not be able to afford.

Now that the corrupt elite within the PLP know they are invincible, you just imagine what they will do if they ever get control of government again. They will have Hubert Minnis and his adult children all wishing they had never returned to the Bahamas to practice medicine. And Snake will be leading the charge as one who has repeated said, 'what goes around, comes around'. My oh my.

And let's not forget the witness tampering by Dr. Sands and Marvin Dames as cabinet ministers that resulted in Frank Smith walking away as a free man from his criminal charges. Just more millions of taxpayer dollars flushed down the toilet by Minnis and Bethel. What a flaming joke!

What do you expect from a police force that has become very Haitianized throughout its ranks and is comprised in the main of very lowly paid police officers who received a D- education in our failed and dysfunctional public education system? The Jamaican QC, Keith Knight, can't believe how easy it was for him to get Frank Smith and now Shameless Shane Gibson acquitted of all charges. QC Knight will surely be telling all of his colleagues back in Jamaica just how dumb and stupid just about everyone is within our judicial system here in the Bahamas and within the hierarchy of our government. Millions of taxpayer dollars once again flushed down the toilet by Minnis and Bethel. What a joke!

> And Mr Turnquest’s position yesterday received support from Dr Allen Wright, the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) country economist, who agreed that The Bahamas was not in a “fiscal crisis” despite the increased deficits and debt laid out in the Fiscal Strategy Report.

Straight-jackets should be put on both Turnquest and Wright, and they should be made to share the same padded cell in Looney-Tune-Ville.

There will be two or three candidates running as independents in each constituency in the next general election. Vote for the best one running as an independent who is known to have little or no association with the established political parties, i.e. do not vote for a candidate who has well known ties to the PLP, FNM or DNA. Once elected, the first order of business for these independents will be to form a new party, hopefully one that constitutes a majority of seats in the house of assembly. The second order of business will be the selection of a PM.

Minnis obviously doesn't understand that our country's brain drain is attributable to the economic and social mess that he and his corrupt predecessors have created since 1973. It's perhaps poetic justice that his children should be made to suffer the consequences of what he and others like him have helped create.

Yeah, and notice how right after he says no VAT increase in the "near future", he says no VAT increase in the "foreseeable future."

Both Minnis and Turnquest condemned the last PLP government for the introduction of VAT at 7.5% and promised during their campaigning in the run up to the general election in May 2017 that they would not increase taxes if the FNM won the election. And then soon after they were elected, they hurriedly increased the VAT rate by a whopping 60%, from 7.5% to 12%.

The Minnis-led FNM government has since proven that it only knows how to govern by increasing both our national debt and our taxes. Minnis and Turnquest have clearly demonstrated both their unwillingness and inability to cut costs to any great extent anywhere within our grossly over-bloated, very costly and non-productive civil workforce. And the same applies for all of the bloated head counts at government owned enterprises.

If the Minnis-led FNM government wins the next national general election, it is a virtually certainty Minnis and Turnquest would quickly increase the VAT rate yet again, likely by another whopping percentage of at least 67%, from the current rate of 12% to at least 20%.

Voters must keep in mind for the next general election that these two bozos, Minnis and Turnquest, are utterly incompetent and therefore only know how to govern by increasing our national debt and taxes.
