Just like he said he would beef up power to prevent all the looting that has gone on in Marsh Harbour in the aftermath of Dorian. Dames is all talk and no action.....he knows he has no control whatsoever over the now uncontrollable corrupt hierarchy of the police force. No one but the criminal thugs feel safe in the Bahamas today.

Hubert Minnis, Peter Turnquest, Frankie Campbell, Elsworth Johnson and Darren Hensfield have each repeatedly demonstrated that they are not the least bit averse to the Haitianization of the Bahamas. These four are blocking the adoption of a sustained aggressive program of round ups and weekly deportations, preferring instead to only deport a few hundred illegal Haitian aliens whenever intense political pressure is brought to bear on them. Minnis, Turnquest, Campbell, Johnson and Hensfield have no serious intention of enforcing our immigration laws.

This legislation is nothing but BS political cover for the very corrupt Minnis-led FNM government unwillingness to seek legal redress and appropriate compensation under well established international norms and conventions for all of the harm caused to our environment by Equinor/Statoil and Carnival's shiit and other contaminant dumping cruise ships. Frankly, this all wreaks of an under-handed under-the-table side deal.

> Mr Smith said a "game changer" for the Bahamian economy "wherever it comes from" is now sorely needed, adding: "We need a shot in the arm that provides increased revenue flows to the Government to pay back or retire some of the debt." While environmentalists will not like to hear it, the only possibility in this area presently appears to be Bahamas Petroleum Company's (BPC) oil exploration activities.

Here we see The Tribune's business editor, the very deceitful Neil Hartnell, carrying water for the even more deceitful and shameless James Smith by failing to disclose that James Smith, as a director of BPC, is touting his own business interests. There's also no mention by Mr. Hartnell that James Smith served as minister of state for finance and de facto minister of finance under more than one PLP administration and as such greatly contributed to the financial mess that our country found itself in well before Hurricane Dorian came along.

Smith has a very checkered past of running to his Greek paymaster whenever the PLP does not have control of government. There he lies in wait, trying to stay in the public light, with the hope that he can once again wreak financial havoc on our country if and when the PLP regain control of government. Smith's Greek paymaster has always banked on Smith providing as much political sway as he can possibly muster, but Smith's political capital is now very much a thing of the past. Indeed, Smith is probably more of a political handicap today, and rightfully so.

And just think.....the millions and millions of dollars of taxpayers' money stolen and/or wasted by our failed public healthcare system has contributed to the untimely deaths of countless patients. Our governments, whether they be PLP or FNM, have quite literally created a killing machine for the vast majority of Bahamians while the political elite and their families enjoy private health insurance benefits that allow them to be treated for their illnesses in the best hospitals in the U.S. What a sick joke!!

With all of the post-Dorian looting that has been going on in Marsh Harbour, this relatively small stash of stolen goods is all that the police force and defense force have been able to recover???!!! How shockingly disappointed those who have been looted must feel.

@John: For decades you and many others like you have been gored by corrupt PLP and FNM governments alike. But ignorance can be quite blissful so I suspect many of you felt little or no pain while it was happening. Quickly fading hope is now all that most of you are left with, to cling to for dear life. Truly sad.

financial armageddon proof:

bozo minnis + doofus turnquest = more borrowing + more taxes

∴ more borrowing + more taxes = gross fiscal negligence

∴ gross fiscal negligence = financial armageddon
