I wouldn't bank on that....peak summer demand will be much lower if hotels stay closed....but lack of proper maintenance by BPL, even on their new equipment, remains an issue.

Okay, now it's Sir Snake's turn. He should be able to easily give back to our country 100 times what The Lyford Cay Foundation has donated. And where's Brent Symonette? I can think of at least 20 Bahamian families that can each donate $20 million plus and not feel any pain from doing so in terms of their personal net worth. The great fortunes amassed by these super wealthy Bahamian families over the years from rigged monopolistic practices of one kind or another are in large part the reason why we have a dysfunctional society today comprised of the very few "haves" and the very many "have nots", with no real middle-class to speak of. Without such generosity by the very privileged few, government may need to consider a one-off wealth tax applied to the super wealthies' financial assets and real property holdings worth in excess of, say, $5 million.

Those fines are not sitting well with most Bahamians. More importantly though the Red China Virus is quickly becoming the secondary reason for Minnis's total lockdown orders. The death of our economy and its national security implications are rapidly evolving into the primary reason for the total lockdowns and I sense that martial law may soon have to be imposed in an effort to maintain law and order. That means the defense force and the police force will be fully armed and authorized to use lethal force if necessary in an effort to prevent large scale rioting, looting and violence.

Too many people in our country are soon going to be without the means to obtain the food and medications they need to survive if Minnis and Turnquest do not act quickly to secure reliable supply chains for these most essential items, including adequate storage facilities and distribution centres. A reliable supply of electricty to these facilities and centres will be crucial because certain essential foods and medications must be refrigerated. Our country and its people are sadly on the precipice of reaping what our corrupt and greedy elected officials and their cronies have sown for us since the late 1970s. "The-All-For-Me" mentality and culture embraced by the political elite has created the wide spread poverty in our society that will make managing our country's current financial crisis extremely difficult and, yes, dangerous.

Will a deluxe suite at the Hotel Corona come with a ventilator? Just wondering.

Minnis and Turnquest are clueless of what really lies ahead. No comprehension whatsoever. If only they knew, they would be making the truly hard decisions right now without any hesitation for political debate.

Believe me, you don't want $20 million or even $85,000 wired to a bank account under the control of Sidney Collie.

Pintard can talk all he wants, but at the end of the day it's only what shoppers ***don't*** see on the food store shelves that really matters to their state of mind.

By now Minnis must be wishing he had been much more vigilant and aggressive in enforcing our immigration laws by rounding up and deporting the 80,000+ illegal aliens in our country. It is these same illegal aliens who will be the first to rock Minnis's boat in a most serious way that will ultimately prove most harmful to true Bahamians. Their patience is wearing thin as they become increasingly hungry and more desperate, and their propensity for extreme violence is well known. And they are unlikely to be able to endure the current Red China Virus following so closely on the heals of the Hurricane Dorian crisis.

Under a declaration of emergency no one needs to be asked to get on board with anything, especially union leaders of all people. The entire civil work force simply needs to be told by the Supreme Authority that starting with the next government pay day they're all gonna get half of what they were getting before until such time that our country's economy allows for more to be paid. And all members of parliament should lead by example and have their pay, allowances and other benefits immediately cut by 50%. It's just patently wrong that only the Peters in the private sector should suffer while the public sector Pauls feel no financial pain.
