"The people of this nation are beyond that".....O really! Which particular people are you talking about? The majority of poor and hurting people in this country are black. Successive PLP governments have always played the Race Card. They must find someone to blame for the plight of the jobless and the hopeless; they sure as hell are not going to point out their own deficiencies and take the blame themselves!!!
The Race Card is synonymous with the PLP. They use it time and time again because, guess what, it WORKS!!!
Commission of Enquiry can come later. First complete Chapter 11, second government acknowledges Chapter 11, third CCA gets fired, fourth Baha Mar gets back on track for completion using Bahamian contractors, fifth government falls apart, sixth an early General Election, seven Commission of Enquiry under our new squeaky-clean government.
Education about Family Planning and readily available birth control products are essential. However, what about the young girls from broken homes who WANT to become pregnant, either to " catch a man", or because they know other single mothers who tell them that their baby is the first person who ever loved them, and that their baby us the first person they have ever loved?
The only real solution is more love in each and every home, more community outreach work by the churches, the teaching of Family Values in the schools, and most importantly, committed parenting by every mother and father in The Bahamas.
Well said Dr.Minnis: Unfortunately some Bahamian politicians see nothing wrong with serving as a Cabinet Minister and while they serve, enriching themselves and/or their family businesses by using the power and connections of their Cabinet posts!!
In some instances they are so bold and greedy, and see themselves as being so far above the law, that their Cabinet post becomes their family business !!!
Didn't' the LTB faction of the FNM twice try to have her elected as leader, and didn't they fail miserably on both occasions, thanks to the FNM Council and Dr. Minnis's "organizational skills"??
If the government feels cornered, look for signs of verbal outbursts, discord, and naming and blaming amongst themselves. That will be a sure sign that the wheels are coming off the government bus, and then wait and see who gets named as scapegoat and gets THROWN under the bus!
