Aren't the employees of BEC Bahamians too paying light bills and I thought it was at a discount but apparently not. So they would be contributing into the pension plan. BEC is a quasi corporation . Revenue generated is generally from paying light bills not monies from the public treasury ie taxes.. Mr. Miller is misleading the public for what every reason. BEC pension plan as well as other govt corporations pension plans were established by acts of Parliament and they are defined benefit plans. These plans have been invested and made considerable amounts of monies over the years. Instead of being crabs we should ask our government (who because the employees do not contribute make the decisions for the plan) ,where has all the returns gone? I don't trust this present government any things asking for more revenue must be closely look at and accounted for. They got in on lies and will try to stay in on lies.

all praise due.

This government is on a mission to steal every valuable asset in this country. They now want to switch ownership from the entire populace to a few individuals establishing themselves as emperors. Land ,utilities, labour they want to own it all.Beware of the smokescreens!

I agree with Mt. McCartney which I have stated earlier. This makes it sound like webshops etc. are legal. How can you regulate a so called illegal activity ? What is the Government now into racketeering, they the MOB now? We must first make the necessary changes to make the number business come under the Casino and Gambling act then allow regulations to be dealt with. This is ill conceived and and a half hearted attempt to satisfy all parties involved, Again I say all this will do is further cloud the issue and further erode the foundation of our Constitution. boycott the referendum since it is like the general election don't give them the numbers to move forward (pun intended).

He "relieved" the taxpayers are more than relieved to have such a character no longer watching over their benefits. Mr Moss is just one of the many who needs to be "relieved" of their duties. He seems to be disloyal to his party and openly defied his leader by not gracefully resigning. These so called "new leaders" are brash and quick to action but slow to reason. They feel that they have an inherent right to rewards without putting in any work. In all this I have yet to hear any positive thing he was doing or positive policies he was trying to implement at NIB. In my view he is a disgrace to his party and has brought shame on one of our most vital institutions. It is time that the PM realizes that the buck stops at him. Good riddance to bad trash.

How many of church members work in the casinos. Why is there so much outcry on numbers? In my 39 yrs of living in the Bahamas I have yet to see any organisation ,religous or otherwise outside of the Crystal Palace Casino or Atlantis Casino protesting the evil of gambling. Or is the foreigner soul not as important as the native? gambling is a major industry in the bahamas. We benefit every year from taxes placed on casinos. No protest against that. Is this issue really about gambling or is it just a halfhearted effort to make it seem we are a "religous" society with value and morals real or imagined? Do we really fear the wrath of God? We have allowed and profited from gambling for years now. It seems the Church just going through the motions. No real effort in being the beacon of morality.God help us all!

What we need to do is boycott the referendum! Don't give them the numbers to move forward with anything. And make our government present with a plausible Constitutional change not a referendum on policy implementation. Make it clear where we as Bahamians stand legally when it comes to gambling.

This does nothing for the gambling issue. Mentions nothing of a constitutional change. This actually is saying gambling is legal!. How can you be asked to regulate a so called illegal actvity. Something can be legal and not regulated. Example the price fishermen charges you for fish on the Dock. First you have to ask whether it should be legal or not. Our Constitution already falling apart at its bind. All this will do is further cloud the issue which I think is its intent in the first place.

These are the kind of things we as citizens need to be concern about. Not who does make how much money but things like these where foreign companies breaking the backs of the Bahamians and sending profits overseas.
