This is an outrage and no joking matter.

The same Florida also has concealed carry laws. Rights to defend one self in the abscence of policing. He aint quoting that one.

Yeah right! No mandate or legislation in place for that. Just trying to garnish public support to further enrich their "preferred" shareholders. But as usual this government probably done seal the deal just a matter of forcing it down Bahamians throats.

The pay structure of the WNBA could also play a part in her decision. A young marquee NBA player rarely is faced with a choice like this and she is not the only one. Russia and Turkey usually hot on the heels of WNBA players. There is a huge pay disparity between WNBA and NBA which forces players during their off season to play in other countries where these host countries openly vie for these athletes. In most cases these women actually playing more games than the men which can mean more injury thus a shorter career. So they are forced to maximize every financial opportunity they can get.It is time for the NBA to stop treating the WNBA like a pet project and aid in its marketing to help the league to become autonomous. This is much a gender equality issue just as well a national issue. By the way Rick Fox did the same thing and we still embrace him.
Sports in this country is not a revenue generator, we produce good athletes but there isn't an economic mechanism in place to support the athletes. We have such a small market it is questionable if it is even feasible. In this instance only so much the government can do. Athlete training and support is a very expensive endeavor. And successive governments have never tried to fully tap into the benefits of our country producing world class athletes. It is great to be a proud Bahamian world class athlete but it would also be even better if your country could help you remain one.

Ordering parts is where the grifting comes in. Padded invoices, parts saying they being ordered from Timbuktu or God know where when in fact they haven't,man hours being manipulated. The greasing starts from the port of entry straight to Clifton Pier with various stops along the way. Notice how he so anxious to "stock up" on parts. They want stock dem pockets up. Osbourne gone ( one of her concerns was the parts ordering) the tiefing light just turn from red to green.

The former Hubert Ingraham Administration already ran BWSC from Clifton Pier for overcharging and other unethical practices. The PLP brought them back, need i say more! This company famous for greasing palms. Not only do they do the maintenance, they order the parts and charge exuberant prices. They famous for turning 2mill into 4mill....POOF. just like that. Sound familiar. This what Mrs. Osbourne was fighting against. For BWSC to come back at BPL is an abomination, when in fact they had Bahamian consultants doing the same job and was above aboard. Internal politics caused that affair to turn sour. Whenever BWSC arrives the greasing down begins. Why would a company situated way in Denmark want to do business way down in the Bahamas?Cause corruption reigns. The chairman know why he suspend the contracts. This whole BPL saga reeks of corruption. The last time BWSC was here some local fellas turned millionaires and was only suppose to be making quasi-government salaries.I guess the"free new boys in town" want do the same thing. The union leader only singing for his supper. he know the deal, probably hoping they slip him in some Vaseline to keep quiet. What a crock of Kaka. The Minister should be ashamed of himself. Hope they don't end up like Frank Smith and them.Karma is a Bitch.

With year round sunshine and 700 islands and thieves....I mean cays the Family Islands should have been ground zero for solar power years ago especially the smaller ones. Not only would we have by now have developed a suitable system for NP ,the "Big Dollhouse" now known as BPL would have been in a better financial position by eliminating some of its liabilities from fossil fuel generation in the Family Islands. But we are a reactive nation with politicians and civic leaders who only have knee jerk responses to crisis situations.
