Not to worry TAL.The documents will be unsealed, and all will be able to digest the deal that saw the hotel open, but then stay closed. We will finally know if it was sold and to whom. I wonder if they are going to replace their VP Government Business. He has no more strings to pull, and the hotel WILL have to pay its taxes and bills. Ask BPL how much Bahamar is paying for service. Nadda. If they are indeed open, their income and expense statement reflects zero income, and mounting expenses from salaries, utilities, maintenance, etc. Not pretty. I am afraid many will be disappointed when all the details are revealed.

Not a political rules expert, but I thought projects of this nature had to go through HOA and senate approval. Inasmuch as the House was dissolved prior to this deal, is it legal or valid.
Did it go through the correct processes?

I think Mr. Lloyd is an intelligent person, of impeccable character. He has spearheaded rehabilitation programs for years, has an ear to the concerns of the youth, and I have never seen his name mixed up in any questionable circumstances. As for the rest of them, I say, give them a chance to perform, before we cast judgement. If they do not perform, the new PM says they will go.

I don't think the question is "should I retire". The PLP should retire him. It is their folly if they keep him on as party leader, as it is patently evident, that the PLP lost because of his leadership, or lack thereof. He is the only person who can't see that. Sad.

Here is a $10 million dollar quick boost to the economy. no more carnival. Another $10 million; collect the casino tax owed by Bahamar. That's $20 million. Some VAT from Bahamar and we are now looking at close to $100 million. Easy fixes.

Not to worry Baha10, the Bahamian people have had enough of Perry's dictatorship for the past five years. We have democratically elected a new government, who just happened to win by an overwhelming majority. That was the wish of the people. As with Perry, should our new leaders not perform in the best interest of the country, which I feel certain they will, we will replace them too. No more dictatorship. Lets now all give our new government a chance to govern, and hopefully repair our "almost" destroyed country. PM Minnis has promised us the ability to recall non-performing representatives. That is a step in the right direction.

She expects to hear whether or not the Government will "pick this up" on day two. How professional. That is all the new Government has to do, before even naming a cabinet. Maybe they should give her offer special preference, but wait, they are not the PLP.

Birdie, you must be in denial. Did the FNM conjur up the mess at BOB, the millions missing from Road Traffic, the Customs money missing in Abaco, Mr. Fitzgeralds own emails, Maynard-Gibsons stores in Bahamar, the increasing murder rate, the failure of Mortgage relief, and the fact that the PLP did not accomplish their 100 day promises in five years, etc.,etc., etc. That is the biggest crock of s--t that shows your blind devotion to a PLP party no matter what they do. God bless your ignorance.

A few days ago, Big Bad Brad, in a press statement, told former PM Hubert Ingraham to "crawl back into his hole". Well, I guess Perry and Brad must have found one too. Because they sure as hell went underground since election day.

So long, bye bye, to Loretta and the rest of her Magnificent Seven, who did their best to disjoin the FNM party, with no apparent course of action after having Dr. Minnis removed as leader in the house. Well Loretta, Dr. Minnis' house is bigger than the House of Assembly, it is the entire country, and political electorate, and you have, by your misguided actions, been resoundingly removed from that house. The people of Long Island have elected an independent candidate before, in the person of Mr. Larry Cartwright, who ran against FNM candidate Mr. James Knowles. But Mr. Cartwright was a decent, trustworthy, son of the soil. We do not like back-stabbers.
