It would boggle the mind if either Mr. Halkitis or Dr. Minnis accepted blame for this altercation, for as we know, politicians are faultless and blameless.

Amen Tal. And good riddance Dr. Rollins and the magnificent seven.

I don't know who was telling LBT she had "the right stuff" to be the leader. It certainly wasn't me and, as is evident, it was not the FNM members, as she was soundly defeated in the leadership election, voted on by them. She must have been dreaming to think that her actions in spearheading the vote of no confidence(if she did), would result in any other outcome, other than what has transpired.

All this finger pointing is exactly what went on for the past thirty years and why the situation at the landfill has escalated to where it is. Blaming one another has not fixed the problem. It is now time to stop this petty bickering while people suffer, and come up with a viable solution, and then implement it. By stating that Dr. Minnis does not represent the change the Bahamian people need, Big Bad Brad has acknowledged that the Bahamian people need a change. For once I agree with him. Let's see how he extracts his foot out of his mouth this time.

Worked out well for Nygard. Fifty thousand for a few acres of acquired seabed land worth millions. Average Bahamian citizen would be enjoying the facilities at Fox Hill for what he has done. What justice?

It is amazing how an article about a politician's not nominating can turn into a character assassination of a respected man of God.

I wonder if Mr. Jennings could be so kind as to explain a notice posted on the ATM door at the Cable Beach branch that says: Due to the decrease in the prime rate by the Central Bank, Commonwealth would be decreasing it's deposit interest rates. Funny enough, they did not include that they would likewise decrease their lending rates. Go figure.

John, I couldn't agree with you more. However, just being white does not qualify one to represent the "caucasian" citizens of the country. Good Character and commitment to serve all of the Bahamas should be prerequisites. These qualities are sorely lacking in many of our MP's, Black, White, Mulatto, Conchy Joe, or whatever. This is one that would not, in my opinion, qualify.

Not front page news for me. He is a relic of the past who should retire on his immense wealth.
He has changed his mind about not supporting a party run by Minnis, to saying he would only run if he was made Deputy Leader, now this. To quote Big Bad Brad, a flip-flopper.

Amnesty tries to put pressure on the Government to effect more liberal treatment of the LBGTI community. The fact of the matter is that the government campaigned long and hard to have the constitutional referendum passed, but the citizens of the country voted it down. This means, in regards to Amnesty's assertions, that the people of the Bahamas, not the Government, are opposed to liberalization of these rights.
