The PM looks, speaks, thinks and acts like a tired old man.
Time for him to retire and turn the party reigns over to new blood.
He is like a boxer who does not know when to quit and will lose whatever dignity he has left if he continues on in his quest for leadership.

Nice to see that there are still some honest people out there. Kudos to you Ms. Eldon.

The FNM is at it's weakest point because of the public utterances of Loretta Butler Turner and Dr. Sands and their band of supporters in Parliament. Dr.Minnis is campaigning to return as leader without casting aspersions on the characters of those who challenge his position. Meanwhile his opponents are busy washing their underwear in public and further weakening their party. If you are professing to be the better alternative then why do you have to do so at the expense of your party's character.
All of this hurrah will mean nothing if the party is so dis-jointed that supporters begin to lose interest. The PLP will win by default.

As is typical In all things related to government run departments, these rental generators will probably arrive in time for winter. The PM and DPM should have insisted that they be ordered in a timely fashion, and all of this load shedding could have been prevented. They have lived in the Bahamas and been in powerful political positions long enough to know the situation at BEC and the difficulties in meeting peak demand over the hot summer months. It is difficult for them to comprehend what the average citizen is going through, when they live in homes fully powered by generators and solar systems that the taxpayers are paying to run. They have become immune to the sufferings of the people.

What happened to the threats to fire Moody's?

Surely BPL woul have done due diligence and reviewed the historical usage of power in the summer. BEC has had to rent generators in the past to meet the summer demand.
What type of company is this that we have turned over the most important utility in the country to? They obviously did not do their homework before taking over, so how can we rely on anything they say they plan going forward. What a joke!

Those of us old enough to remember the terrible power cuts of the seventies and eighties, where many people moved away and businesses shut down, realize that really nothing has changed. Fifteen years of FNM government and nine years of PLP government since 1992, and the only thing successive ministers and chairmen of BEC can do is point blame at each other like kindergarten children.
Time to shut up and do something about the problem.

Interesting comments from a man, who a few short years ago, had the power to purchase generators, or to upgrade our system to more eco-sustainable clean electricity but choose to do nothing but blame the previous administration.

Loretta Butler-Turner and her band of merry men are doing their damnedest to rip apart the FNM while spouting all the while they are all for keeping the party together.
Running for leadership in any political party is a fundamental right of democracy, and she has every right to do this. However, her antics could very well result in a party that she would not want to lead. The convention is less than two weeks away, and a leader will be duly elected at that time. Everyone should be campaigning for support, but not at the expense of party unification.
I wonder who will support whom after the new leader is elected, or the old one returned (the most likely outcome).

I recall some months ago that the DPM said the BPL would reduce electricity costs by some 40%. Now a few months after taking over management of the corporation they are talking increasing rates and blaming the rolling blackouts on poor equipment and lack of government support in purchasing new equipment. Those statements may very well be true, but any reputable company would have performed due diligence prior to taking on a management contract, and would have known what they were getting into. Based on their performance to date, one can only wonder if they had any experience at all in running a power company. This BEC/BPL folly may very well be the straw that "breaks the PLP's back".
I never thought I would ever way this, but BEC was better run under Mr. Miller, than it is now under BPL.
