Agreed. The fact that they lost their non-profit status in 2016, by not filing the requisite government returns, casts a showdown of doubt over their organization almost from inception. What amazes me is how this group was allowed to exist without government sanction as being "non profit" for such a long time.
We will put up tents in February and hurricane season begins in June. Great planning. What is this? A bunch of beaurocrats mumbling on with nonsense. We better pray that no major hurricane hits Grand Bahama, Abaco, or New Providence this year. Only divine intervention can protect us, not this dis-organized bunch.
Using the above logic, we need to move Freeport, West end and East end Grand Bahama. Also South beach and Pinewood Gardens in New Providence. Then Spanish Wells, Current, and James Cistern Eleuthera. Need I go on? You got to be joking.
They always have a rationale for increasing vat, power Bill's, license fees and numerous other levies; and an endless amount of excuses when it comes to reductions for our benefit. Using their methods of planning we are going to be taxed now if we have a hurricane. God help us. We live in a hurricane prone country and will very likely have one or more this year impact the Bahamas. What happens then? Dog eat ya lunch.
And the corrupt Bank Board and Management team that were complicit in these credit arrangements. The main culprits smiled all the way to the way to the bank with a hefty severance package and praised of a job well done.
Power was off and on three times between 6 and eleven thirty pm on Tuesday evening, in the West end of the island. No prior notification from BPL, and no advice to shut off breakers to prevent appliance damage from the dips and surges as power went off and on. As far as I am concerned we have a new generation plant; which John Q Public will pay for to the tune of 193 million I believe. The same crappy, unreliable service continues, with the same b--ls--t explanations. No change. Just higher levies on our Bill's. Merry Christmas.
