Speaking of visiting. Could someone tell me when Junkanoo is in Nassau. I would like to come. I'll be in Nassau soon. I'm just drawn to the Bahamas. I left my heart there many years ago.
I agree and I'm not sure the government will make the needed improvements, then manage the property well. Promoting the property will also be needed. There are too many people that have quit going to GB because it's just lonely feeling. It's beautiful, the people are great but there's nothing going on. It's just to quiet. Good live entertainment is a must. I hope they do it right but reputation doesn't reflect "hope and change." Yes, Obama's platform🌝
Doesn't matter who does the work. Shows pride in your home to take care of it. Then impose large fines for littering. It has to be enforced. A lot of times we use prisoners for this kind of community work.
In the States there are cities that I believe the same about. They are so far away from god or family that they have payed the price. Louisiana is one, often referred to as sin city. Chicago, look at the massacre this past weekend. Katrina wiped out Louisiana and its really never been the same. Chicago is run by gangs. Give the people their guns back. Look at New York. You can't live in Kennesaw Georgia and not own a firearm. It's the law, guess what, very little crime. Fairly large city.
Right on Honolulu and TorontoGal. I totally agree. My mom and I use to spend the summers in the Bahamas, in the late 70's and 80's. We spent a lot of the time in Freeport, which was booming back then. It was without a doubt the best time in my life. Everyone was our friends. We walked the island from one side to the other. Occasionally hitched a ride. We spent time in 8 mile rock, we didn't eat at the touristy restaurants. One night we arrived about 10:00 pm and one of our friends went in her restaurant and made dinner for us. She insisted, of course we payed her. We never encountered anything but kindness. I fell in love in Freeport and never have forgotten him. Actually that's why I started reading this paper. It made me feel closer to him. I've traveled to Nasssu many times to find him after 35 years, his name is John Braynen. I know he's in Nassau and his last known employment known by me was at the American Embassy as a security guard. I've gone "0ver the Hill" more than once, without incident. I did get a lot of attention. I do believe he would come to the resort if he knew. I don't want to interrupt in his current life, if in a current relationship. Maybe he isn't though. The crime has affected tourism a lot. A lot of people are afraid to get off the cruise ships. They are on vacation with their children and aren't going to take any chances. That's why the cruise lines like the private islands. I pray something changes. I really would like to spend more time there, and enjoy the Bahamian life style. I would like to go to church on Sunday with you. Eat in your food, not the American version. I haven't had boiled fish and johnny cake in many years. It's going to take some major changes to bring family and church back.
Racism is everywhere, but I'm really sorry this will be a memory for these kids forever. As the kids told one white man was using racial slurs while another white man punched him in their defense. There is no excuse for what happened, but it isn't everyone. It is so much better than it ever was. I'm proud for the changes, but it's not enough. Atlanta is like every city there are safe and not so safe areas. I'm not referring to white and black areas. It's more drug and gang areas. Miami is where I as a white women feels unsafe alone. I travel through Miami from time to time, but I didn't lose anything there. America as a whole isn't racist and I hope that most don't judge us by the stupidity of others.
It could be just a accident without any negligence, but no one knows. If these are homemade boats they all need inspection. The reason for the explosion needs to be determined, to prevent another deadly accident. With regard for human life. The people hiring these boats while on vacation deserve safety first. All lives matter!

Something has to be done, but I'm not sure this was the answer.
