Would be great for Grand Bahama!

Why? How did they sell that one?

They have held out as long as they can posting travel warnings for child bearing age women and men, since it can be transmitted through sexual activity. They don't want to tourism, but the outcome for these babies. The lifelong suffering for the child and family. The financial expense. These birth defects are so severe. Well it speaks for itself. When they begin a regular spraying program, we should see a drop in people testing positive. I do believe there is a vaccine being tested at this time.

We lived in Vero Beach Fla. when I was a child. They always sprayed for mosquitos. Trucks came the neighborhood with sprayers across the back and we used to run and play in the mist. No one ever told us to stop. Well now that I think about it maybe that's what wrong with me. lol

I'm American. Yes, the information John has stated is true. I've already raised my kids, so I really hadn't been on top of this situation. If they are not already testing all pregnant women for zika, they will be soon. They probably are encouraging women to stay out of the southern states and the Caribbean. I don't think they are trying to add to the struggling economy, but save us from the expense and heart ache that birth defects would certainly cause.

Familiar games! Politicians must learn their tactics from one another. Your right it's election year. Right before election they'll put as many as they can back to work, giving the citizens some new hopes. Then in hopes we will forget all of the underhanded stunts they have pulled. Exactly the same in the US. A few years back 50% of our homes were being foreclosed on, when the banks had given these loans to people they knew couldn't afford it. The loans on most homes in the US come from Franny May, which is government money. When they foreclose guess who owns the house. The government. Some believe this was the idea when they loaned the money. All at the same time you could not even get extra work at McDonald's. Food prices escalated, gas prices went to $4.00 at gallon. I know that is cheap for the Bahamas, but we drive 30 to 40 miles a day to work at least. The average family burns 1 1/2 to 2 tanks of gas per week. Now they don't even talk about those days. I bet if your family lost everything you haven't forgot.

Yes, your right. Unless your in child bearing years, whether your the man or women, the risk is high for these extreme birth defects. I've already raised my family, but I hate to see such suffering for these babies. Especially in teenage pregnancy which aren't prepared to raise a family anyway. All of the expense of raising these children will be on the tax payers. Hey in the United States a woman with a child goes for help and she gets it. Then they get lazy and don't want to work, and then there is the welfare generation. Then their kids end up doing the same thing.

I hope not. I wish the best for your Island's and it's people.

Can you elaborate? In the US we were told they have found a experimental vaccine. I am not saying our government doesn't lie. If they could prevent these birth defects I would think they would.I'm going to do some reading on this today and Chikungunya (which I'm not familiar) with. These are horrible birth defects, why would they do this on purpose. Lisa
