The Bahamas and her citizens are the only ones who will lose in this situation. Once again our leaders backed the mega resort when we should have gone the Eco-resort route. Ego seems to be one of our major downfalls. Lets hope this situation does not totally melt down and we are left with another Coral Harbour type situation. Also the developers better put in some top notch anti-theft measures, certain sectors of our society will strip that land bare in a heart beat if they do not.
Our politicians, especially the PLP, only know how to play politics, look after them and theirs, loot the public purse, and point fingers. They have no clue how to govern in a fair and balanced manner. They have to big a chip on their shoulder, have an inferiority complex, and are unashamedly greedy, just like some two bit dictator or tyrant. A bunch of immature, spoilt children!
“Although the Constitution provides for an independent judiciary, sitting judges are not granted tenure, and some law professionals asserted that judges were incapable of rendering completely independent decisions due to lack of job security." I think this has been proven with the Flowers affair!
At governing the PLP are most amateurish but the sad part is, at ripping the Bahamian people off and destroying our democracy they are most professional.
The judicial credibility of The Bahamas is out the window. The only thing that you can believe about it is that it is for sale, just like our government. What a sad country The Bahamas has become. Look up Banana Republic or nation for sale in the dictionary and it will say, see The Bahamas. Forward, Upward, Onward, Together, straight to hell.
It would make me happy to live in a country where ALL citizens had the same rules to live by. Where all citizens had the same opportunity to make something of themselves. Where corrupt officials where arrested and put in jail. Where public funds where used for the benefit of all, not just the party faithful. Where our public servants where held accountable. Where laws where enforced across the board no matter who you are. Some basic stuff but I know our leaders are far to immature and childlike to ever see how this could even benefit them and theirs!
