Why bother cleaning the area up? Stupid, nasty, uneducated Bahamians will just trash it in a week or two. Take pictures of the cleaned area and take one two weeks down the road, see if I lie. Also they should charge the landowner who allowed his property to become a dump for the clean up.
I hope this country keeps borrowing and borrowing and the IMF comes in and puts the screws to the government. Then Bahamians will wake up. You think Greece has it bad, they are still in the Euro currency, wait till they devalue our dollar. then you will see. Enjoy!
And these clowns want to saddle Bahamians with NHI when three years later they STILL have not completed the critical care block that was in it's finishing stages when they took over? Just like the Abaco airport that had to be revamped so they could get their cut and they still did not get it right. What a bunch of excrement.
It is telling that you have no idea and do not care of the implications of what the PLP government has done to the PAC. You and people like you are about your political party, to hell with the country. If the FNM did what your beloved PLP is doing you would be screaming bloody murder. Stop being a pawn and be honest with yourself in the least. What the PLP is doing is a blow to our democracy, just as the "opinion"poll on illegal web shop was. As the old saying goes where there is smoke there is fire, well dear bird, the flames of corruption are engulfing The Bahamas under the leadership (or lack thereof) of your Prime Minister.
The opposition should put forth a vote of no confidence in the speaker and the government. It is painfully obvious that something stinks and it ain't rotten conch! Democracy is dead in this country under this government. What a sad day! Mr. PM, this will be your legacy, the man that oversaw the death of democracy in The Bahamas. It makes me sick to my stomach.
Who is surprised that the PLP is making the PAC null and void? This is the only way that we have of keeping tabs on how OUR money is spent and as we all know, the PLP just does not believe that Bahamians should know how their money is spread out to their (PLP) supporters. If they had nothing to hide they would have let the PAC look into urban but it is painfully obvious that they (PLP) are hiding something. Democracy has taken so many blows from this government it is hard to say with a straight face that The Bahamas is a democracy. Today it resembles a dictatorship more than anything. Hubert Ingrham might have been overbearing but he never stopped the opposition from doing their job and exercising their powers under the PAC. I truly fear for the future of this country at this point. I am disgusted that the government has taken this stance.
I do not care which party wins the election as long as that party is serious about being straight with the Bahamian people. Corruption has as much to do with our crime problem as the lack of education and the lack of jobs. There is also the breakdown of the family unit that has a major role in this. A young man without a father is at a distinct disadvantage. We all know our leaders are corrupt, sweetheart, and have the ethics and morals of a tick, you think the youth do not eat that up and think that it is the way to conduct ones self when they see and hear about this MP or that pastor/bishop/doctor/person in a supposed leadership role doing such things? Our leaders have failed the nation and we as a nation are paying the price. This goes back a long way and leaders that are in the grave that certain sectors refuse to acknowledge were dirty have caused what we are dealing with today. Dirty is dirty no matter how high the person is held. Maybe it is time those in leadership roles became honest with themselves as well as the nation. This will never happen as we all know those in leadership are much to shallow to be honest with themselves much less the nation.
So now they are robbing you and when they have your things, shooting you dead. Sounds like a place I want to live, or visit, NOT. This country is finished, there is no work, no hope, no future in this hell hole. Corruption, crime, lies, and deceit are the order of the day, what a great place to raise a family. How proud our leaders must be with Bahamians trying to get as much of their money out of the country as they can so when it finally does implode they have something to fall back on. You know the politicians already have their stash abroad, right Mr. Pm, you got a fat account in Atlanta, right?
The family islands are just as nasty as Nassau. The only difference is there are not as many people to dump their trash in the bush. Go to any family island and look around and they are just like out west in the bush. Bahamians do not respect our #1 asset, the environment. Bahamians do not understand and are not educated about what the good lord made in this country. The amount of garbage that is thrown into the harbour from Potters Cay is a prime example. Our leaders have no idea either, if they did they would have special classes in all schools and made sure our security forces where given courses on the environment and why we need to protect it on the land and sea. They say the Dominicans have turned down south into a wasteland. You can bet your last dollar they have not done that to Cuban waters and fish stocks. Once again, Bahamians are exposed as failures, too slack for their own good!
