The other major question that should be asked is "is the deficit reduction a result of any government program to reduce spending or is it just because government is fleecing Bahamians with higher taxes?". I would put my money on the fleecing aspect of the question.
The thing is, the common Bahamian will eat this load of horse nanny up, they have no understanding of the economy nor the massive debt this country has looming over our heads. Perry Christie knows this very well, this is why he rambles on so much, he knows he will lose those he is speaking to and therefore can bamboozle them. Smoke and mirrors is the name of the game and an uneducated population by design makes this possible.
I am certain the Government has no clue what the words "fiscal discipline" mean. They most certainly have not practiced it thus far. In three years this government has borrowed almost 2 billion dollars and we have very little to show for it except a farm in the bush of Andros. The government will borrow/waste/mismanage/and steal this country into the poor house, there is little doubt about that. Full steam ahead aboard the SS PLP, oh happy days!
This government has nothing but contempt for the rule of law. this has been proven time and time again. We are in a dictatorship at this point, Hugo Chavez comes to mind.
The level and outright blatant corruption is astounding. The scary part is you have people who obviously are getting their loot as well who totally support the rape of the Nation. These people do not care for the nation or for that matter their future family's (grand kids great grand kids) plight, they only care about getting theirs now. These minions are not only destroying the future of the nation they are destroying their own peoples future. This is what you get when you put greedy, immoral, unethical, people in power. The harm being done today will last for generations and most probably those with millions today will have squandered their ill gotten gains and their descendants will curse their names and their deeds. The truth always finds the light sooner or later, always remember that.
Maybe if there was a semblance of the rule of law in this country people would obey the law and not litter. Sadly our leaders do not obey the law and in this regard the trickle down effect is working well and good. This country is headed down the wrong path and sadly at an alarming rate of speed all the while the ones in charge are laughing all the way to the bank while they party the night away.
From what the sip sip is the equipment was already procured, the PLP put a stop to the contract so their minions could get the contract and enrich themselves, look at what happened to the Abaco airport.
But birdie and her PLP say everything is great, there are more jobs, and the economy is improving. Who is telling the fib? Our government would never lie to us right? Please let them continue to borrow/waste/mismanage/and steal and dig their and our grave, the Bahamian people need to hit rock bottom before they wake up, better sooner than later!
