I can hardly afford groceries at this point and have cut back in a major way on everything. If the government wants to tax me more I will be going to social services for a card and will end up on the dole. This makes no sense. Have these politicians seen the prices of goods in this country, who except a million air can afford to live a half way decent life in the Bahamas? I would bet that more than half the politicians out there have not been in a grocery store since before VAT! Someone even said it here a case of beer that is brewed right here is $53.00, that is madness!

Yes Birdie, Bahamians made money, but that money is stale, it done come from Bahamians. That is your taxes. BJC was supposed to inject capital into our economy. From the reports coming out it seems the only real money spent came from government or citizens. Therefore we just playing with our stale money. Money, by the way, that we have borrowed. They probably have real leaders in The Turks and Cacios islands. Here in the Bahamas we have a bunch of lawyers who would like to be royalty playing like they understand how to govern while they fleece the public treasury for all and any the can get their hands on all the while trying to enrich their friends/family/and lovers. No bid contracts are the norm, shoddy workmanship is expected, fleecing of taxpayer moneys is encouraged, and corruption is everywhere. It's better in The Bahamas, if you are a corrupt politician!
