If being a smarty pants is questioning the people in power when it is obvious they are doing sketchy deals, yep, that's me. I will never excuse a politician because of the party they represent, unlike you dear Bird. I am a Bahamian, first, foremost, and forever. As far as I am concerned BOTH political party's have been destroying our country due to mismanagement, corruption, and croneyism. I will call a spade a spade, do you have what it takes to do the same. Be real Birdie, be truthful, and open your eye's, your children's future is at stake! So you are worried about the interest rate, how about let's stop borrowing money. How about fiscal responsibility. How about hiring the best man to do a job, not just the party faithful. How about a government that answers the peoples questions. How about a government that accounts for every cent of the peoples money. How about a government that is accountable for their actions. How about a government that can actually plan a project and execute that project in a timely manner and on budget. It is not rocket science, it is called good management, you think we can get that in our country?

I am surprised it is ONLY 100 million the way these clowns are playing with our money. They have a love of wonton waste and mismanagement. The political class of this country will not be remembered well in the history books when it is all said and done.

If mean spirited is exposing corrupt practices and gross negligence then please sir, be downright nasty. Birdie your PLP has been exposed for what it is, a bunch of frat boys who look out for their own and do not really give a rats tail about managing the peoples money. Do you think if this was the DPM's personal project he would be so caviler and unconcerned? Somehow I doubt it. These morons are wasting and mismanaging the Bahamian peoples money, why ANY true Bahamian can excuse that behavior is beyond me.

The big question is how much of that 28 million will go towards our debt? We where told that the government needed to implement VAT to pay down our debt. Will the money from VAT be used as we where told it would be or will government just use it as a cookie jar? I predict that Government will NOT pay down our debt with VAT. I also predict that government will hold true to form and waste, mismanage, and steal the VAT money just as they have with all the rest of our tax dollars. There will never be a true accounting of OUR money as if there was, chaos would ensue. We are ruled by a class of people that surely will spend the hereafter in hell.

Professionals can see a punk from a mile away and are not willing to put their name on the line for amateurs. The government and the committee are way over their heads, very unorganized, and not up to these acts standards. Once again The Bahamas is looking like a special kid on the short bus, people will give sympathy but they do not want to play with us. That's what happens when you have supposed leaders that can't swim trying to play in the deep end. The only loser's once again are the Bahamian people. Yinna love to take licks hey?

Do not hold your breath. With this set of kleptocrat's in power you can be 100% certain not one cent will go towards our debt. If they paid our debt with VAT they would not be able to get their grubby finger's upon the loot. This government will use it much more wisely, social services and projects that will never be accounted for. Urban renewal will get a bunch of money as then it can just "POOF" disappear. As our P.M. says "government does not do stupid".

Perry, Brave, V Alfred and Co. need to just fess up and say we where to busy looking out for them and theirs to worry about if our crony had insurance. This is what happens when politicians look out for their own, these suckers put party before country, and due to this fire even a child could understand it is so. These inept, greedy, kleptocrat's need to be swept from the halls of power forthwith, they are destroying what once was the envy of all, The Bahamas.

Who gives a rats ass about the U.S.A. , we are dealing with OUR country, The Bahamas. A country that is majority black, is led by a black government, and is going down the tubes. This has nothing to do with the white man, it has everything to do with misrule, and mismanagement. Corruption is killing this country and until we as a people start to impress upon those in power that WE will no longer stand for their corrupt ways, this country is doomed. What sort of country do YOU want YOUR children to inherit? think about that!

Mr. Hanna, this is on YOUR shoulders. The Bahamian people will not be saddled with paying for the rebuilding of the dorm. YOU where negligent, period! You let the insurance, lapse, if you even had it in the first place. The dorm was not finished and therefore not turned over to the government. Face it Mr. Hanna, you screwed up, cut corners, and now YOU must pay the piper. Rebuild the dorm, learn your lesson, and move on.
