There are more Haitians in Abaco than Bahamians, FACT! Even the Conchy Joe's does speak Creole.

Sir, you are just scratching the surface. The whole RENEW deal stinks to high heaven, no pun intended. Why would a government that says it believes in Bahamians bring in a foreign group to run our landfill? They will not even let Bahamians deal with our own trash? From what is understood there was a group of Bahamians that had a viable and complete plan to sort this disaster out yet somehow we are stuck with a foreign group that is only recycling select materials. The sip, sip is that (of course) a high up politician is behind this group. Why must the Bahamian people ALWAYS get shafted so a politician can live large. The people of New Providence are being poisoned by the very air they breath and quite frankly our government does not care. The quality of life in the Bahamas is on a steady march downwards. I would also bet my last dollar that even with RENEW running the land fill, the public treasury paid to put the latest fire out. This needs to be investigated!

What fool tells the people you are trying to catch that you are on the way and what your plans are? The illegals so far up in the bush by now it ain't funny. Smoke and mirrors, what is really going on?

I wonder what the criteria is to have your home repaired? Is there any chance politics is involved or is it fair and balanced?

What the hell do you mean, Haitian Bahamian, no sir if you want to live here then you become a bahamian, if not carry your hip back to that failure of a country you had to run from.

One other thing that may make sense is when a sloop is intercepted loaded with illegals, take them to Inagua. Why must they come to Nassau to then be sent back south? These boats should be intercepted down south as it is, both Dominican and Haitian come from the same island and are our biggest problem. The new Defense Force boats should be a rare sight around Nassau, they have little business up here.

Does FINCO need to be bailed out with the Bahamian peoples money? Is FINCO majority owned by the Bahamian people? If FINCO fails, will NIB and the public treasury (you and me) be left in the lurch? Is FINCO used by the political elite as a cookie jar? Is FINCO run by political crony's? Do slimy politicians have anything to do with the running of FINCO?

Madhatter, that is wrong as the FNM gave Bahamians the chance to invest in the port and Commonwealth Brewery. Both of these stocks have done very well and common Bahamians who invested have made money. The port was oversubscribed but every Bahamian that wanted a to invest got shares. What investment has been offered to the Bahamian people under the PLP? P.M. refuses to allow that 9% you speak about come to market and he is making sure that common Bahamians have no chance to invest in the new cell company. The PLP has the Bahamian people twist right up. They say they are for the grass roots and the common man yet they do nothing to help them of any substance (ham, turkey, and election "gifts" do not count). The PLP is about the PLP and the political elite, once, poor Bahamians see this they may start to move forward because under this government we are stagnant. Anything is better than what we have now.

How about starting to think outside the box (something Bahamians can not do). These illegals mainly come from one country and they get here by boat. Instead of flying them back on jet planes of about 150 at a time, send them back by boat, 500 a time. If a boat is good enough to get here, then a boat is good enough to go back on. Hire a freighter, put up some shade, give them food and water, and send them back. This is not inhumane, cruel, or or even indignant, it may take a little longer but that is about it.

A politician calling for transparency, really? Does the dubious Mr. Smith know the meaning of the word. Maybe he should back a Freedom of Information act. I guess all the secrecy is only good when one is actually IN office and hoodwinking the Bahamian people, hey Mr. Smith?
