Birdie, you are talking garbage again. The Government owns 40%, the shipping company's own 40%, and the public owns 20% of the container port. Who are these 4 family's you think own the whole thing? Could our P.M.s dear friend Mr. Mosko be one of them? Pray tell, as you know SO much, LOL.
Word is Virgin will get the license as the PLP has it in for Cable. The PLP is small and petty minded. The FNM brought Cable to the Bahamas and therefore, the PLP will not give it the next license. This is how the PLP works. They do not think about what is best for all, they only think about them and theirs.
Here is your explanation, it is getting to be election season and the PLP is desperate. The PLP will do anything to win and this is but an opening salvo. The corrupt PLP knows that they will be investigated if they lose the election so hold on tight, they will be nasty, I would not doubt they let loose their goon squads.
The politicians of the Bahamas are a law unto themselves. It is a fact that they do not obey the law as it pertains to them, I.E. public disclosure. If they blatantly break that law why worry about a little thing called conflict of interest? Also you know they will come up with an alternate understanding as to exactly what conflict of interest is. As the old heads said, "when you lay down with dogs you will get flea's". The Bahamas surely could use a tick dip about now.
The Bahamas is just not that attractive these days. We have many problems, chief among them is a failed governing system. Our leaders are self serving instead of nation building, education has been deplorable, crime is rampant, dirt is evident and acceptable, and the list of negatives goes on. It is time for a change, the lack there of will be to our own detriment.
It is obvious to any with two eye's, two ear's, and a brain that functions that Our P.M. is on the side of the Chinese. Sad as that is it still takes a back seat to the very real corruption that is steeped in Bahamian politics. The politicians who have been running this country from independence are traitors to The Bahamas and the biggest threat to this country's well being.
Many people are on the fence right now as weather to stay or leave. The next election will tell the tale. If this corrupt set gets back in you will see an large uptick in migration out of the country.
Do not count on Cable getting the next license. The PLP has a hard on for Cable as the FNM brought it to fruition. Just out of spite they will give the license to Virgin never mind that they will export a large chunk of their revenue. The PLP is spiteful, watch and see.
No, that is the problem, Birdie thinks everyone who questions her beloved PLP are wrong and she is right. Reminds me of a victim of spousal abuse, "he beat the living hell out of me, but I know he loves me". Right Birdie?
Birdie will, after all her god, SLOP, started this drain on the public purse. She will say something stupid like 'they hire poor black people, so it must be good."
