What's sad is that this has become the norm, kids killing each other. I call them kids because a young man knows issues aren't solved through violence.
However they aren't to blame because the system has failed them by not providing them with opportunities for growth. They've realized that even if they finish high school BGCSE and all that at best they go to COB for 5-6 years, spend half year try to find a decent job that 14-16k. With VAT and the cost of living rising that miteaswell be nothing.
These murders won't go away until government plp fnm dna or whoever decide to create opportunities for Bahamians. Which starts by creating local industries and stop overly relying on foreign imports.
Yes free thinker and ofcourse he couldn't be reached
"The source pointed out that Bahamas Cargo & Logistics, one of the main Customs brokers engaged by Baha Mar for the project, was owned by Mr Fitzgerald’s family. The Minister could not be contacted for comment on this and other issues over the holiday."
Though he may be protecting his PLP his point is still valid. We cannot blame government for our actions as sovereign individuals.
I accept the fact that there is correlation between poverty and the inefficiencies/ corruption within the government but we CANNOT give people excuses for committing actions that are harmful to themselves and society.
People not just blacks have the right to have as many children as they want. However, if one does not have the have the ability to care (feed, clothe, emotionally engaged, educate) for a child on a daily basis then they should not be having children.
Yes the men are just as responsible as the women but our culture just does not work that way because women end up carry the weight of the responsibilities. Women must take control of their sexual interactions.
If a man can have sex without a condom, he will and wont think twice about it until after the fact.
Our schools must also educate children from young on an annual basis on protecting themselves from unwanted pregnancies. Preaching for them to wait until they are married just doesn't cut it anymore
Parents talk to your kids about sex and make sure they always have condoms and are aware of contraceptives . It's not taboo but very natural actually and they will thank you later for it
The question is whether if anything would come of all this marching?
There has been no negotiations or discussions with the government right?
I believe the union heads need to come together and organize a sort of call out. Shut it all down. No one goes into work until there is a live broadcasted discussion for immediate change.
Because all of these marches and cat fighting seems to be going no where, the PLP can still win and we are uncertain if the FNM or DNA or whoever will do better. It is time for the people, the working Bahamians to take control.
There are many who aren't Christians that disagree with gay marriage and they have that right. Whether gays want to get married or not is not a major issue for the country which is why I believe he is losing some of his respect and traction.
I don't believe Bahamians are overly fearful or have extreme hatred for gays, they just don't want to deal with it or see it. If that was they case crimes or the community would reveal that.
It comes down to what the people want and currently the people aren't for it.
We cannot blame Sebas because the government allowed him to attain his wealth and ofcourse they were paid off. And they are extremely stupid for doing it because all of the Bahamian people's money is put into his bank account.
Sucked completely out of they economy. The Government could have legalized gambling houses of their own and maybe build better schools, roads, community parks, pay the deficit, pay teachers on time, the list go own. But no they give it to a few men who drain the economy and take advantage of the poorest of Bahamians.
Who vote for these people? Who just want to build hotels which also take money out of they economy.
if they paid me to march I would take their money and not show up so they could see what it feels like to be robbed.
Could could imagine what place Bahamians are in if they have to be paid to come out and support this government?
I hope the people bood perry and chase him out of there. There is nothing to celebrate besides getting them out of government.
Yes sheeprunner, "estimated" 1000 people. I highly doubt any other island marches today because banks are taking their homes. Or they are working or trying to find work because the cost of living is higher on family islands.
