The Atlanta Hawks is a basketball team. I believe you may be referring to the Atlanta Falcons NFL cheerleaders. But I could see where the reporter could confuse two similar birds.
Mr. Miller, in my opinion I think the BEC Union is even more pissed off that you were reappointed as Chairman and have amped up their efforts to try and get rid of you or at the least, make you look bad. These outages are just occurring to frequently now and I can't believe that our electrical workers are that incompetent in keeping the power on. The American consultants will soon be able to afford to retire in Lyford Cay with the amount of consultancy money we are paying them. But stay strong my brother; don't let the Unions cause our Country to go the way of Greece!
My condolences to the family of this young man. On another note, a key fact that was mentioned in this story shows why VAT will not be enough to save this country. You have civil servants using government vehicles for personal business, sometimes even on the weekends. This culture of abuse and entitlement among some Bahamians will never go away. Hence, VAT is needed to keep up with the huge tab that the government sector shoves up our butthole to pay every month to support their slackness. This madness needs to stop!
Stay right there Mr. Rollins! If Mr. Christie can't even fire Renward Wells, there's a slim chance he will fire you. Christie knows if he triggers a few bye elections, he could very well be losing some seats. Just carry on like Wells and Moss who acting right now like they just don't give a s**t!
Pleassseeee! This country will be celebrating its 100th year of independence before we get the findings of this so-called "investigation". And Allyson Maynard-Gibson still owes the Bahamian public a summary of her meetings in Europe related to webshop gaming. In addition, she needs to explain how she was conveniently out of town when the 'honourable' Minister Fitzgerald dismisses a gun charge case against one of her former clients. Corruption at every level of this government everywhere you turn! Smh!!
Mr. Fleming, you are better off waiting until after the next election, assuming that the government will change, and taking your chances to resolve this issue then. As it stands now, ain' nuttin' happening for you right now. Sorry to say this to you but this present administration is useless.
Nobody actually believes anything that comes out of Mr. Sands mouth anymore. He basically swore that the resort was going to open in December knowing quite well that was not going to happen. Why don't you spare all of us the BS and admit that this thing won't open until late 2015. By the way, it was just announced that your Chinese friends are funding a resort (called Singulari) that is 50% larger than Baha Mar. When it is completed it will have the largest casino and be the largest resort in the Caribbean. So there goes Baha Mar's claims to fame!
Seems like that slap by LBT awoke a sleeping Giant! I love it! This is what the country needs. Finally, we have people willing to challenge the status quo. Rollins, Wells, Moss and D. Smith all need to leave the party and join up with Branville and C. Stuart to form a new party that is relevant to the young voters of this country. All these old heads need to go. I just wish the Bahamian population had more fire! We just sit back and let the country go to hell and do nothing! I mean you have all kind of shanty towns all over the place and illegal immigrants freely moon-walking into our islands and nobody does anything!! When will this government stop catering to their special interest individuals and actually govern this country for a change?
Whatever! The entire Bahamas already look bad voting these bunch of clowns into office (10,000 jobs!). Obviously, he must be very qualified if he was still the best candidate even with his 'baggage' over his head. I respect the abilities and qualifications of the advisory board and trust that they gave his selection a lot of thought and consideration before coming to their conclusion. Let's move on to more important matters.
