OK this is a real issue and as usual the government has an excuse. Why are only half of the vessels available? Of course no maintenance.
I have lived on goodman's Bay for 20 years and consistently had issues with the Jet Ski operaters. The employees routinely show off driving very fast and within feet of the beach despite other trying to swim or snorkel.
Tourists with no idea are driving like idiots. It's a miracle no one has been killed.
Not a big HW fan but he is right about this and the US embassy staff have been shouting it for years. Once again there is no enforcement of any laws and until there are this stuff will happen.
I was literally run off the road while driving through a traffic circle that the police bus entered while I was already in it. I kew nothing about the fact that police buses don't follow traffic laws. It had no flashing lights or siren. No one follows the law here in Nassau, not even the police.

Very fast jetskis are driving very close to the beach without any regard to swimmers or others. Many times it is the jet ski operator employees hot dogging standing on the seats or doing tricks. They often pass between swimmers and the beach. I have tried to talk with the owner/operaters and they claim if I am worried I should have an orange buoy. Even if I had one (really just for swimming) I'm not sure it wouldn't be ignored. Why is it a surprise that it is an issue to regulate? No one does their jobs and there are absolutely no consequences for any transgressions.
Look it's time for the Bahamian's to cut Bhahamas air off. Let it fail-it is already failing. Another thing that gives Bahamas bad press and costs the citizens many millions of dollars.
I have recieved more emails about this article than all the issues with crime and US Sanctions combimned. From a Bahmaian publicity point of view immediate action is essential.
