Every country has to do what is deemed best for its own citizens. Everyone else must adjust. Not hard, just adjust. Be thankful that we got a discount all these years , but the question is, what did we do with the discount? Did we always think that the discount would never stop? Did we plan our spending like it would? If you are a parent , you will appreciate that you must save while the saving is good and be wise in your spending. I will be affected, but I understand what he is doing. Maybe Bahamians should settle to deal with internal national issues that we have been kicking down the road for decades, like the Haitian migration, whom is a citizen, marital rape etc. we are too scared to deal with the political fallout, no more, no less. Don I agree. Also, put a 25% VAT on cigars, beer ,and cigarettes. Drop VAT to5% on veggies, fruits and wheat products. Encourage Bahamians to eat healthfully. All of these vices cause the public increased medical cost due to high blood pressure, Diabetes and other debilitating diseases in their 40’s , and 50’s. I consume alcohol and would not mind the 25% VAT on beer.

We do not have any watchdogs in the Bahamas. When you oppose any party, they give you a seat at the table and you shut up. Nothing to see here. Potholes still in the road, illegal immigration still here, corruption still here, government workers still do not work, all other problems still here.

Plus , they want to give a 28 year old female living in a car a year off for each pregnancy. What the hell is that all about. No one works in government offices as we speak much less we give a female 1 year off for pregnancy. Next the 4 males accused of being the father will want time off as well.
