Naming roads…politics, Olympic prizes… politics, administrative jobs…politics, who gets funding …politics, who gets scholarships…politics. This place is disgraceful! There are no laws to penalize politicians for untoward actions, campaign finance laws… nothing. How can a country vote no to the numbers boys and the Bahamas government dictatorship does what it wants to do? It regularised them . Now , they will be honorable men. Pathetic!!!I am done with voting because it doesn’t matter.
The road and cars caused the deaths like the gun caused the killing , like the pitbull caused the death. O one blames the person behind all of these mishaps.
Bulls, when I was in the states , the last hurricane kept me in the states for two extra days. I had to come up with two extra nights , plus car rental. The United States government didn’t pay for the extra days. Politicians make “out of the box” decisions. We need protocol for situations in the country.
Okay, so we have a dozen men out there somewhere whom you can encounter at the grocery store or Kelly’s. Wow, if you get in a car accident with one of these guys, you are in trouble. Such a place we live, such a place.
Every road in the Bahamas is a dangerous road. Have they seen these giant pools in the road that will swallow up your car in seconds? Speeding is the danger. If you drive at 35 or 25 or even 45 miles an hour , you generally will not die. It is the 80 miles and hour that gets me.
“soaring Rents”, such a shallow phrase, without context. Not only are rents soaring, food prices are soaring, wages are constantly soaring , electricity is constantly soaring, gas prices are constantly soaring, government taxes are constantly soaring, medical bills are constantly soaring, school fees are constantly soaring, building supplies are constantly soaring, and all of these affect landlords. The government needs to figure out how Bahamians can afford their own homeland. 85% of Harbour Island is owned by people other than Bahamians. Why? Bahamians cannot afford to buy land in Harbour Island-too expensive!
Stupid is as stupid does. A 7 month baby is killed , and it is not an offense. Yet, it is against the law , to possess the egg of a Bahama Parrot or any egg of a protected bird in the Bahamas. Well, a bird’s egg is protected, but a 7 month human is not. Such stupidity, it is. Long live the potential of all birds!
