Well, this is how it goes. The tourist buys all souvenirs on the cruise ship, walks past all 4 of the closed stores at the Point and to the dirty , shanty beach across from the prostitutes place. When they are done, they walk back to the cruise ship. They do not spend any money , so the excitement from the minister is disingenuous. He knows what is going on and is using numbers to facilitate his personal campaign.
So, when we go completely digital what will happen then? People say they do not use cash to prevent being robbed yet, their credit card is constantly, fraudulently used . My credit card has been hit more than I can remember. I have never been robbed. My computer has been hit by viruses, our airport was hit by a virus last year, COB has just been hit. As a country we need to use all means of payment and keep paper. Do not go completely digital and paperless. When a hurricane hits , I can use my old time dial phone. We cannot rely on digital, only. Otherwise, we will be shut down and paralyzed when something happens.
Nothing can be worse than it is now. 1 gallon of olive oil was 24.99 , now 59.00 dollars , and the list goes on. What the hell can be worse than this , now? The Bahamas lives in inflation. We are just damn expensive and have always been. 30 years ago , I made a reservation to buy my plane ticket to come back home for Christmas. The Damn ticket was $750 on Delta. I asked the delta agent why it was so expensive. She replied,” you live on a resort. We live on an island 21by 7
Too difficult to deal with. People are voted into power to protect our interests , then say we don’t want to deal with certain issues. I guess no one in the present government can qualify for a National Hero Award.
Lazy , lazy , lazy. I guess this topic doesn’t bring government money or politicians, family, friends and lovers money , that is why it can’t become law. Government can make a law in a week , if it wanted to. We see it all the time. Nothing is impossible or expensive, if you want it.
