Clamshell, i take your point about tracking down a shark, however, can you tract down a lionfish? And this invasive species is threatening our livelihood , is a shark attack not threatening our tourism sector? So, i respectfully say that they are comparable.

Yes, good news, hopefully after receiving funds from the bahamian populace, they will come back and make a contribution to the society that helped them.To often, they stay in the states. America maintains our educated folks . People believe that they are entailed to free everything. Who is to pay? If no one is working or contributing to taxes, who pays the unions yearly increased salaries? Come back and contribute to this messed up place; we desperately need you !!!!!!!!!!

We should keep living and continue to educate ourselves . It is not the shark's fault. To be honest, I don't know why shark dives are legal; they should not be. They should be left alone. We are conflicted as a people, though. The BNT said not to kill sharks in respect to what happened, but tell you to kill the Lion fish, on the other hand, if a Pit Bull dog mauls a person, the dog is put to death. Why does the BNT not speak out when the police puts a dog down? What is the protocol for these situations? Kill a Pitbull, don't kill the shark, kill the Lion fish? We have banned the import of an American staffordshire terrier , but no ban on chumming, feeding, or diving with sharks. How crazy.

333 acres ? How did he acquire all of that without a stink in the paper? the Lord proprietors in the 1600's or 1700's were granted tracts of land this big for their loyalty to the crown. How did he get all that land is the question reporters have to investigate and ask! Gentrification without displacement should be his plan, not gentrification with displacement of the original people living in this area. If people have to move because their land has gone up in value; and now they have to pay Real Property Tax, which they now can't afford, this is a problem!!!!!!! The Government Of The Bahamas, be advised, don't tax any family because this development caused the land value to sky rocket !!!!!!! It will be inhumane of you to do so, and I think you are heartless and will.

What are you talking about? Seriously? What do you have to do for this job? Wow, give me a break. Give me $80,000 to wear dresses or suits , get chauffeured, be honored where ever you go, have traffic stopped to let you get where you need to go, and you gave the Bahamian society a service? I think , we gave you a service. You pass away , and in 15 years we have to make you a national hero? Really? We all need to be made national hero's . Politicians and their wives as well as all other professions should be recognized. The teacher, sanitation engineer, sales person at the bank etc are all giving a service.

Hello, look at the comment at the bottom of your comment. Whenever you leave your house, there is a 50% chance you will get into a car accident. Whenever a police officer goes to work, there is a 50% chance he or she will not come back home. That is all I am saying. No one knows what truly attracts sharks to humans, not even the so called " experts". Give us another 100 years and " the experts" will say that we were wrong all this time, just like the " experts" in the medical profession change their outlook on different diseases. So , is it I who is ignorant or you.

Shark Diving capital of the world? It is throwing caution to the wind. You have a 50% chance of being bitten every time you swim with a shark, period. I don't care what the paper says . For the victim, it is 100%. Why are we picking up snakes and wondering why they bite us? When you picked me up, you knew I was a snake.

My sympathy to the family of this individual. i am so sorry for what happened to your son, brother uncle, nephew etc. Our country has to do better with everything. Where do I start? if i do, I will be here until next year. People, pay your bills!!!!!!! When you have a service, pay your bills. If you rent, pay the rent.We are too focused on material things and looking good. Spend money on what is important. How many landlords take their tenants to court only to have the judge tell the tenant put $50 on it. That is ridiculous . The judges need to be harsher with the duckers and maybe something like this may not happen. When people are owed money, they don't seek the courts because the courts give you the run around. What a country. when people owe you money, all you do is forget about it because you can't do anything about it.

In America, Offenders are placed on a website for all to see. What are you talking about? I thought we do everything America does. We have their seat belt law, the banks want us to get computerized like them,we accept their moral compass on touchy issues, and the list goes on.

Anomaly- something that deviates from what is normal or expected. Every year for the past 50 years, we have experienced load-shedding. To be decent, what are you talking about? Where are you from? Are you Bahamian? Obviously, you haven't lived here for a while because you would have experienced and know that this happens every summer.Well Mr. Chairman, whose idea was it to do this exercise in the summer months as opposed to the winter and fall months? That is the question. simple planning would have made this easier to deal with.
