well I know that I was never paid for items produced for the music festival, luckily it was not too much and the business just absorbed the loss. I hope they found out which crook ended up with the money.
in any society about 5% of the population are sociopathic. Most will not know that they are as they have never felt differently. A well trained sociopath can do very well in society, particularly in the military or police and also in politics, the ability to lie convincingly is useful in this career choice. It is fairly easy to identify the 3 sociopaths within the ranks of the PLP, can you see who they are? Just as dangerous are the sociopaths who have not been properly socialized and can kill without remorse, these are the ones who become the murders we read about in the newspapers. Parents are responsible for bringing up their children in this country but hundreds of them do not have the resources available or the education. Crime is going nowhere except up, doesn't matter which party is in power. It's sad, this used to be such a beautiful country to live in.
Munroe? Yawn....... I wonder which private schools the children of this "man of the people" go to? I wonder which private school he went to? I wonder who paid for his law education?
Bahamas for Bahamians has posted that Wilbert Moss was never convicted. Provide your proof.. This is just wrong and a typical PLP attempt to rewrite history using the formula that if you say something enough people will start to believe it. Do not take seriously anything else posted by BahamasforBahamians, like birdiestrachan they are almost certainly being paid by the PLP to push out an agenda of lies. zWilbert Moss was convicted and jailed.
I agree with Economist, State sanctioned killing of convicted murderers does not reduce the incidence of same/ If someone can point me to a credible study that shows otherwise then I will reconsider my position. Imagine the consequences if someone like Fred Mitchell held the power of life or death over you. Miller had a son living in his house who was stupid enough to cheat the people he was dealing drugs with. They killed him in a more than usually gruesome way as a warning to others. No one wanted to risk their lives by identifying those responsible and so no one was ever prosecuted. Miller chooses to advocate for the death penalty out of a need for revenge. He would do better to warn our youth to stay away from the easy money that the drug business offers. Bradley Roberts also had a son living at home with him who was killed while flying a shipment of illegal drugs into the Bahamas. He too could have used his time to warn people away from the trade.
David Mitchell used to work weekends doing yard work for me. I fired him for taking my wife's car without permission. He then moved to Abaco. His mind always seemed a little slow but he never showed any violent tendencies. When I heard he had been convicted of a violent double murder I wondered if the authorities had the right man.
A government run hotel what a great idea, it is bound to make lots of money. Perhaps we could try a government run airline or radio station, they too would be bound to make lots of money for the government. Wouldn't they?
One thing that will not stop crime is a stroll about at 10 am in the morning by an overweight bunch of high ranking police officers wishing to see their photographs in the dailies in order to demonstrate to our elected officials that they are worth the vast expenditure. Spent on their salaries, pensions, overseas training, and jobs guarding and driving elected officials who mistakenly consider themselves to be VIPs.
Simple. Makes total sense. When Swindling imposed the immovable properties act on the Commonwealth in 1982 it stopped dead almost all Out Island development virtually overnight. Many real estate agents sold absolutely no island properties for years after. When the Rt. Hon. Hubert Ingraham and his cabinet repealed this act in 1992 then some movement in the market started up again .
A good food man by any measure. Every Bahamian should be taught how to sail a boat preferably at school. Sailing got Sir Durward to the Olympics several times.
