John, relax, it is good to have differing opinions expressed on this site. I sometimes agree with your posts and sometimes I don't but that doesn't make me a dirty malicious slimebag, or does it?
Bahamasair is so dysfunctional that it never be sold. Thank you Peter Bethel, member of the corrupt and inept pindling administration, for taking H.G. Christie's innovative and successful creationand turning into the shambles it is now. Peter bethel was paid a large government pension for years after being voted out of office. Abolish the pension scheme for all MPs, they do not deserve them. If Shane Gibson is tried and convicted and sentenced to jail time, he will still be getting a large pension check every month when he reaches retirement age. Does this seem right? Abolish this evil system of giving large pensions to fired MP's. Most especially PM's.
But, but the plp politicians said vat would be used to pay down the national debt? You mean they were lying to us? plp politicians lying to us? It's so hard to believe and we are paying them such huge pensions now and until they die many years in the future, and then we will be paying these large pensions to their survivors. Change the law, cancel the ex mp's pensions.
"ensure the BDB "does not become a burden on the public purse", what? BDB has been nothing except a burden since it was conceived under the corrupt swindling administration to provide some high paying jobs to plp party supporters lending money the government had borrowed on the international market to other party supporters at an interest rate that was lower than the rate at which it was borrowed if defaults were factored in. Like many things that our state elected officials do, it was and will continue to be a recipe for fiscal stupidity.
High speed chases do not happen in densely populated urban areas in first world countries. It is only a matter of time until these stupidly aggressive police drivers kill innocent pedestrians. When this happens they should be tried for murder and whichever senior officer implemented this policy should be tried for manslaughter. Stop this stupidity before it is too late.

tax them until they can not make any profit and have to close. The numbers business will re-appear as an illegal alternative but at least then the local plod will be getting his kickback instead of corrupt politicians. Bring in a national lottery with reasonable pay-outs so the gamblers will migrate away from the web gambling shops. Profits from the lottery to fund sports, education and the arts. Simple.
This bill designed to allow state workers to monitor each and every citizen, law abiding or not is just plain evil. Hundreds of state employees will be listening to your phone calls, reading your emails and WhatsApp posts. With your smart phone the state can trace every step you make and every step you have taken in the past. With the software now available the state can listen to every word you speak in hearing range of the microphone on your cell. In addition they will be able to turn on the cell phone camera and watch you as you undress for bed or take a shower. The FNM will get voted out of office in a few years and people like shane Gibson and Jerome fitzgerald will have total access to your life. They will be able to know every web site that you have ever visited and every phone call you have made. If this thought does not fill you with dread for the future then you either have no imagination or a tenuous grasp on reality.
Anyone who enters a web shop to gamble thinking that they are going to come out with more money than they entered with is an arrogant idiot. As the web shop owners know, he Bahamas has tens of thousands of arrogant idiots. Web shops are evil, they exploit the ignorant who do not understand simple mathematics. Gambling is a self imposed tax on people who do not understand mathematics. The government should tax and regulate this industry as much as possible leaving the owners with minuscule profits. Invest the proceeds into mathematics teachers.
