Minnis has survived everything that a lesser man would have lost or given up. But if you take a look at who he's got around him -- Brent's money brains, Dionisio's business brains, Jeff Lloyds intellect, Reuben Rahming's organisational skills (the only one to get jitney drivers to wear uniforms), Peter Turnquest who can play politics, the accounting abilities of Reece Chipman, Adrian Gibson, Albury. There are more brains, intellect and enlightenment here than a thousand PLPs. There are a few not-so-hot as well, including the FNM Fweddy, but I think that Minnis has a stronger, more intelligent and better bench than the PLP kleptocrats and their pet dork, Crisco Butt.
Exactly right. Was playing pickup basketball on the court near the bridge. Several young men joined. I got talking to them. They both figured that they would be dead by age 35. It was very matter of fact. No emotionalism. Just statements.
It's the economy. No one knows how to fix it. Fix the economy and the crime gets fixed. Right now, most Bahamians are economically marginalised. Fix that and the crime situation will ameliorate.
Nobody wants to go to Grand Bahama. Nothing to see or do. Beach, shopping and casino vacations are passé, so yesterday.
But hey, I have an idea for a tourist attraction for Grand Bahama. Should attract thousands. Strip all of the PLP party members naked, through them in the water, and make them swim out to the tourist boats for their food. The tourists could throw them bits of bread and watch Melanie Griffin plow Jerome out of the way to get to the soggy salty bread.
