When I see amoral, depraved and criminal behaviour, I tend to give more and more credence to explanations of human actions that lie in the purview of sociobiology. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sociobiolo… .

Humans have built up societal structures and morals and laws have arisen to support those societal structures. They are the framework for achievement, enlightenment and the transcendence of ourselves from mere animals to something far more significant -- a being capable of intelligence, altruism, and a higher order of existence and action.

Those members who are incapable of conforming to those societal norms and hence incapable of achieving the enlightenment, advancement and transcendence of intellectual and moral development really must be dealt with efficiently in a society.

Some sociobiologists contends that the removal of deviant genes from society is the most efficient way of solving societal problems, and as I get older, I find myself agreeing more and more with that stance. Just to be perfectly clear, I am referring to removal with extreme prejudice. Hence the death penalty for egregious crimes against other humans, is perhaps the highest form of enlightenment if the premises of the sociobiologists are correct. This is a contrarian view, but perhaps a correct one.

Because it is balanced, the pencil moves with the slightest breath. The person can gently blow either way to answer questions, and the breath is not detected because everyone is watching the pencils.

It is all clever smoke and mirrors folks. Let's look at the numbers here. They have collected $110m in VAT in the first 5 months. If the VATcollections remain on target for the entire year, this represents 41.6667 percent of the total estimated. In other words, they are on target to collect a projected $264 million for the year. Add the $500 million that they say is projected by growth, and one would expect the government revenues to increase by a total of $764 million. If the deficit last year was $550 million (by their own numbers) than they should be declaring a surplus of $214 million. Instead they are declaring a deficit of $197 million?????? That is a difference of $411 million -- 4/5ths of a half a billion dollars. What the hell is happening to that $411 million??

Good news? Hah! Even at face value, here is what Christie is saying "Good news folks -- instead of taking you and your children and your grandchildren's future further in debt by over half a billion dollars, I am only taking you in debt this year by close to $200 million dollars. Applause please! Een that good?". A $197 million dollar debt this year is a hell of a lot of money, and yet they are talking about floating more bonds and loans on BISX which is further debt for the government not accounted for.

So the question you should be asking is, "Where is the missing $411 million going?". These charlatans make me sick.

I think that gangs validate the existence of the marginalised young Bahamian male. Very little else in Bahamian society does.

Never liked the Izmirlians or thought that they could run a project like this. Never even like the idea of Baha Mar. Don't like tourism as the first and major pillar of the economy. Didn't like the Chinese getting involved. But for the sake of the Bahamas, I really hope that they can pull this one out of the fire, hoping against an overriding pessimism, just for the sake of the folks working there and the jobs, and the well-being of those betting their lives on its success.

You know, Christie een exactly an Einstein, but he is orders of magnitude above Potcake. Thank goodness someone in the Christie camp had the wherewithal to rein in Potcake during the last PLP gubment when he tried to sign us up for Petro Caribe and Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez's plot to own the Bahamian petroleum market. Potcake was ready to sign on the dotted line and as history shows, it would have destroyed our energy supply while putting us into long term debt with the Venezuelans. Pot Cake doesn't belong in any public role where Thinking 101 is required.
