The civil service is killing this country. It is overstaffed and we get less and less efficiency with more red tape. The government needs shrinking and need to make efficiency gains. Civil servants need to meet some kind of performance benchmarks or be fired. Job security on the public sector needs to go.
Why doesn't the government take it's own medicine and insure it's assets? Where is the governments cash reserve and proper financial plans for these situations that is suggested that the over taxed over regulated beat to death private sector is expected to have while feeding the government pig? The government is more responsible for the financial situation it currently finds itself in more that it can imagine.
The government needs to be sued. They legally require you to pay and have a valid drivers license. And what's more is the new law says you can be arrested on the spot for driving without your license on you. YET they are unable to provide you with the legally required document. It's a miracle we can make 119 on ease of doing business.
Same problem throughout the Bahamas Abaco, Freeport, Eleuthera, etc. Nassau is our new colonial master. The Bahamas needs to become more federalized with each island group having much more autonomy.
Lol hurricane ravaged companies can't now conduct business because they are not compliant with kyc rules because their offices are destroyed and their lawyer's offices are destroyed. Keep on trucking until the anti money laundering rules destroy our economy. I as a Bahamian can open a checking account in Florida easier than l can open one in my own country. It is all such a farce.
There was no phased approach when it came to them taxing Abaco. Generating almost as much revenue as GB with half the population and I still don't believe the revenue numbers collected are accurate. They have always tried to hide what revenue was generated in Abaco.
Dr Neely added. "This is a huge step in the global fight against plastic pollution. Hurricane Dorian's impact on Abaco and Grand Bahama has made the devastating impacts of climate change more apparent than ever before.
Lol as we promote oil refineries in Freeport, buy diesel generators for BPL instead of clean energy and promote more cruise ships with more ports that are a huge Green house contributor. These people have more damn jokes than a clown.
