Ok...he is foriegn, most probably Swiss....he was driving...so you can be 100% sure he had his Bahamian drivers license on him....since a foriegner can't get a Bahamian drivers license without showing proper immigration documentation the immigration officers could have
1) instructed him to wait at the checkpoint while he phoned his wife/gf/secretary etc to bring his documents,

2) or instruct him to present himself at Hawkins Hil by 4 pm with his documents or

3) taken his details from his license and car docs and told him to go get his permit and return to the checkpoint within a set amount of time.
This guy wasn't going to disappear into the bush or into the ghetto if he had been allowed to go get his documents.

Anybody who is calling Nassau or The Bahamas a police-state or anything near to a police-state is too stupid to be believed. That kind of comment just proves you are living in La-La Land and have never,ever experienced anything close to a police-state let alone a real police-state. Fools!

The African slave trade did not and could not exist without the willing participation and collusion of all those black Africans too. So are you prepared to sue their descendents and the governments in Africa too??

Ok....so lets say for example that Britian has to pay.....now the money comes out of the public exchequer/ ministry of finance....that money is from taxes that people of Britian have paid to the government. So in effect the descendents of those people who never owned slaves are being punished for something others did.....doesn't seem very fair to me. On top of that, the strongest and most effective anti-slavery and abolishonist groups were in the UK and they effectevily were the ones who forced the UK to stop and outlaw slavery....now the descendents of the very people who fought and sometimes died to stop the slave trade and free the slaves are to be forced to pay for the crimes of others???? That would be obscene.
