The Governor General is the Queen by 'Proxy'. The Queen is the Crown Corporation by proxy. The Crown Corporation owns us, our lands and our Government. It is all very simple and in your face. Our government is simply local government governing on behalf of the crown. Our constitution outlines the powers and rights of the Queen.

The THRONE thing is our official acknowledgement to our owners - the crown corporation, whom the queen is the face for.

Those are not left overs, but the actual thing. In order to become a naturalized Bahamian guess who you have to swear allegiance to? And by birth who our implicit allegiance is given to? And who does the Governor General and all parliamentarians swear allegiance to?

You'll learn that: Only 15% of the world's population lays claim to landownership, and that landownership in too few hands is probably the single greatest cause of poverty. Queen Elizabeth II owns 1/6 of the entire land surface on earth (nearly 3 times the size of the U.S.). The Lichtenstein royal family is wealthier than the Grimaldis of ...

the government of the bahamas intended nationally determined contribution (indc) under the united nations framework convention on climate change (unfccc) Communicated to the unfccc November, 2015

From page 11 ...

The Bahamas has set a target of 30 percent emissions reductions, below 2010 levels by 2030. Efforts so far have been unsupported by the international community.

Note the emissions reduction is 30% below our 2010 level (not 2021 level). Any potential power station buyer wants increasing power loads ie increasing emissions to maximize profits. Me thinks it is a dilemma that will bleed us.

Eleven years have gone by since 2010. Over those 11 years the Bahamas' electrical generation has increased and the number of land vehicles and sea vessels have also increased. To satisfy the stated 2030 goal (given our present energy position) means that we must reduce our electrical generation, quantities of our cars and trucks, and our numbers of boats to the 2010 level - then reduce them further by 30%. If I am wrong then please correct and enlighten me to the correct interpretation.

So called "green and sustainable" options are costly and not sustainable; nor are they carbon neutral as being claimed. Time for Mr. Sears to scratch away any hair he has left on his noggin. Or he can engage with out of the box thinkers who are quick learners and who promptly recognize, evaluate, accept and put forth solutions to challenges.

I agree that she deserves a special reward. I ask that the Supreme Being impoverishes her and all of her descendants - strip them of all wealth, and have them live in hovels in Bain Town with only gmo corn, arsenic contaminated rice, nitrated tinned meats, and weird smelly cooking oils to dine on.

"Imagine, if you will, the humility that comes when distributing or accepting such a meager parcel for an entire household. "

That sentence should be rewritten as - Imagine, if you will, the infuriation of accepting such a meager poisonous parcel for an entire household.

When last has the chairman eaten glyphosate ladened gmo grits, or noxious smelly nitrate infused corned beef whose animal of origin is a true mystery. And what about the flour dessicated with gyphoste? What about need for fiber for proper digestive functioning? What about vitamins and minerals?

As a government minister, Obie Wilchcombe should ensure that we are not gyped by those who say that they are helping. There ought to be oversight of all of the partaking organizations - the Bahamas Feeding Network, the Grand Bahama Food Assistance Committee, Hands for Hunger, IDEA Relief, Lend a Hand Bahamas, One Eleuthera Foundation.

The stock market is a ponzi scheme contrived and controlled from the top. Privatization is just another trick to take wealth from the people and put it into private hands, so that the private ones benefit instead of the Bahamian public. Just look at what happened to Batelco. The modus-operandi is to promise greater efficiency and huge savings, but instead run the infrastructure into the ground while greatly reducing local staff and bringing in foreign staff. The paychecks for the foreigners leave the local economy and Bahamians with the skills required to run technical operations become extinct. Bills increase and services are reduced.

The problem with BPL is inept executives, who are being appointed and controlled by the arrogant/ignorant men off of the street (elected politicians).

@tribanon I agree with you on that, and it is a pity your sarcasm is above the understanding of the spellbound willing victims. I am disheartened in reading the other comments about selling off our only belongings, as they prove why the arrogant oligarchy and monied others treat us as contemptible ignoramuses.
