Our main problem is that we are a 'D Average' people being governed by 'D Average' greedy politicians. The food distribution system is screwed as the people running it are not sufficiently wise to implement proper feeding. Their downfall is in their lack of the component of "intelligence" called "Emotional Intelligence"- combined with a lack of knowledge of quality nutritious foods, as even the politicians are obese. Emotional Wisdom is gained after learning of our own emotions and those of others, along with the understanding and the experience of using those emotions. Perhaps it is way beyond their capabilities for them to become aware of and control their emotions and thoughts, so the Bahamas will continue to flounder with poorly implemented half-baked programs. The health of the people receiving this food aid will continue to deteriorate from the non-nutritious poisonous tinned foods,and generous amounts of debilitating flour, sugar, gmo corn, and weird noxious cooking oils.

@ScubaSteve - Imagine that we had sufficient ships to blockade our southern waters. Imagine that we had a surplus of billions of dollars to give to the Haitians. The facts are that we do not have those things and the cold fact is we are not in their situation - we are in our situation which has to be protected from them. The Haitians are not inferior, but their numbers are far superior. The Bahamas is living off borrowed reserves, which have to be repaid by us. Bahamians do evil to each other very nonchalantly and apparently with little or no thought of consequences. The examples are just too many eg giving a contract to feed down and out pandemic affected people to a 'rich chick' in the west who apparently knows nothing about proper nutrition and apparently does not give two cents about those she was contracted to feed. Then there are those of us who were never affected by the pandemic -kept their cushy jobs and pay - yet through connections got more and better food than those who truly needed it. We coddle and front for foreigners thereby denying Bahamians opportunities. Perpetrating an evil against another Bahamian is like perpetrating an evil against your arm or your foot which is self hatred - we are all parts of one body. The most evil among us are the politicians, as they have greedily committed us and all of our descendants to a life of servitude in the hands of the local arrogant oligarchy and international banksters.

Then there is the fallacy about The Bahamas not being their destination - we are their destination just look around. If you are one of those Christians who gives the clothes of your back, turn the other cheek when slapped, and who prays for the health and strength of your enemy (instead of praying for their total destruction),then hooray for you.
